The cure for an older laptop!
What a difference this made in my HP laptop. I run Vista on a dual core laptop with a 17" screen. Before I replaced it's 2GB of memory with these 4GB cards my PC ran hot enough that I needed to use a laptop cooler all the time. Boot up times took five minutes before I could do anything with my laptop, application startup times were long, and so was garbage collection after I shut applications down. When my Norton security software started running it would take total control of all resources, freezing up my computer while the disk light blinked away, and making a doorstop out of my computer. So annoying!Everything changed after I installed the memory. Now my laptop stays cool. I only run the cooler when I'm streaming a movie. Boot up now takes a minute before I can run a program. Applications start quickly and garbage collection is a minor irritation, not a major one. I can use my PC while Norton is running, though it doesn't need to scan every day so I'll scan once a week instead. (Unfortunately I can only stop it from scanning for 24 hours at a time.) It's like night and day.If you're having similar problems with an older laptop, extend your memory without delay. It's the cheapest thing you can do to make a big improvement in your laptop's performance, and make it run much cooler, which means it will last longer.

Great upgrade for older Macbook Pro laptop
Silly me. I have upgraded several PC's knowing that increasing memory helps with the speed of processing and running programs. When I bought a refurbished MacBook Pro laptop (MacBookPro3,1 Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.2 GHz), it worked so well, I never thought about checking the RAM on it. After installing Office 2011, I noticed that simply trying to surf the web would result in delays and the "spinning rainbow ball of death" delaying page loadings, etc. The original configuration of RAM was only 2GB, with 1GB in each of the two memory slots. After researching which DDR and Pin type memory to get for this specific laptop, I bought the Corsair kit and bought the 4 GB upgrade (2GB for each slot). I read that 4GB was the max that this laptop could handle. Install took 5 minutes. Remove the battery, take out 3 small screws, pop out the old chips and slip in the new ones. I've never upgraded memory on a laptop before and it was really easy. It's funny that newer RAM chips are actually cheaper than these older ones, but it was worth the $50 and it solved the slow down problem. I now have double the RAM just in time to hand this laptop off to my daughter for school. The chips shipped the same day I ordered them from NV and actually got them the next day...!!!

HP Pavilion entertainment,AMD,laptop memory 2x2gb
The media could not be loaded. Hello, I read that my laptop would run faster.I was reluctant to install aftermarket memory due to previous laptop failure(the video hardware burned out).Still I gave it a shot. Now can open 20 web pages and listen to my play list without any issues. Well worth the money.I gave 4 stars because a)I e-mailed support and needed to run a diagnosis on the new memory. I was sent to memtest web page as you can see all the voltage are listed except 1.8v which just happens to be this memory.b) I noticed the task bar flashes for a tenth of a second at random times. I'll update if I find a solution. I like it. Here is a vid of the kit at work.UPDATE the flashing is getting worse. I might just have to return them before it burns out my laptop. I'll switch it back to the original memory and hope that the flashing stops.UPDATE I was informed that re-seating the memory might remedy the tool bar bliping and it did. The laptop is 100%. The video is supposed to demonstrate that the CPU runs out of steam much faster than the memory.

Sweet memory; Resurrected an old, slow laptop
After a bad experience trying to upgrade with another brand of memory, I was pleased and relieved that this product worked right out of the package. What a great improvement 4gb is over the 1gb the computer had before. Some memory labeled 677 MHz is really 800 MHz and wouldn't work in my machine. This did.My Toshiba Satellite A215-s7407 was ready for the scrap heap. It was just old and slow. Vista wasn't cutting it and with an 80gb hard drive and 1gb ram, there wasn't much of a future for old Betsy. Well, I got a great Black Friday deal on a 250gb SSD ($109),put in this memory, and what a difference! I dumped Vista (and decided there wasn't enough horsepower for Win7 or Win8). Since this is primarily an email/internet machine now, no need for a bloated OS. Ubuntu 12.10 (Linux) is tiny compared to Windows, and does email and web browsing just fine. Plus it's free! In fact, with the hardware upgrades and a small, fast operating system, my old laptop really screams. It boots in under 15 seconds and opens Firefox almost instantaneously.

Memory upgrade for a 2006 MacBook Pro
I received this memory well within the promised time frame. It came with no instructions but it was an extremely simple procedure to install, plus there is an abundance of YouTube videos to show you how.Other reviews sounded like adding memory to their laptops only slightly increased their speed. My MacBook Pro came with the Tiger OS (10.4.x) . A couple of years ago I upgraded it to Snow Leopard (10.6.x) and with 1 gb of ram it ran like molasses and at times would lock-up. My son recommended maxing-out the memory since it is so cheap now (he also told me that he considered Corsair among the best memory). When I first booted it up, I was amazed at how quickly it came up! I started with my toughest app - a graphic intensive "night sky" app for the amatuer astronomer. Before the upgrade it would take about a minute (or more) to load, now it is up and running in a matter of seconds! It is like having a new computer for less than $60. I would recommend this memory to anyone wanting to squeeze more life out of an older laptop.

4gb Memory Upgrade
Items arrived in good time, were exactly as stated, and worked perfectly at the first attempt. Everything runs just a little faster now; fewer pauses while memory is swapped out... actually ... it hasn't happened in the few weeks since I upgraded, so maybe it won't happen until and unless I overload this machine with too many programs!A matched pair is the only way to go unfortunately, which makes it more expensive than an equivalent upgrade for a desktop machine. That said, the process is easy and quick. Make sure you ground yourself to the machine before touching the memory; then just take the old ones out and push the new ones in. Simple.

Excellent RAM
I bought this RAM to upgrade an HP Pavilion 9000 series laptop. I plugged it in the motherboard, the computer recognised it and it works just fine. I also replaced the HDD's in the laptop with SSD's and along with the RAM upgrade, my old laptop is running far, far faster for much less than I would have spent on a new computer. From the reviews, you can't do much better than Crucial RAM. It does what it says on the tin.

Great upgrade for your laptop
I bought this kit to upgrade the memory of my 3 year old Dell laptop (originally equipped with 2GB of RAM). The kit arrived a few days later (I reside outside UK). Packaging was good, taking into account that its content was fragile and should be protected against accidental falls during shipment. After installing the memory, no compatibility issues were observed. Still no issues whatsoever are observed after about 20 days of usage. The speed and response of my laptop are now at a total different league. Strongly recommended for anyone with an old computer that he wants to upgrade it without spending too much. If your computer supports it (mine doesn't) and you can stretch your budget, buy a 8GB of RAM kit. You will feel the difference.

Amazon Replaced RAM
I had been struggling with a laggardly laptop brought secondhand, which even with a copy of 32bit XP just would not run properly. Found that it only had 512MB so ordered these chips and my oh my what a difference. Put a copy of 64Bit windows 7 on and it flies, really good RAM for the money, but then I always seem to use Corsair.Unfortunately my joy was temporarily dented as one chip developed a fault, confirmed by memtest. After contacting Amazon they dispatched a replacement even before I had returned the faulty pair, so full marks all round.

Rammed it in
My computer has always been a bit slow. Not anymore. With this RAM installed it knows what I want to write before I even put my hands on the keyboard, leaving me free to complete other tasks. In fact, instead of writing this review I am currently learning to unicycle. Well done Corsair VS4GSDSKIT667D2 4GB (2 x 2GB) Value Select DDR2 Memory!!!
