Practical and works great
High quality rice cooker and offers excellent value for money if you’re getting it under around 80 bucks. I was thinking of getting a Zojirushi that was priced almost double for half the size but ended up buying this Cuckoo when I came to know the Zoji is priced like a Japanese made cooker and made elsewhere to profit. My sister has a Japanese Zoji that she bought from Japan. This particular model of Cuckoo that I got is made in Korea and priced well for the size and features it offers. From my short 15 days of experience with this cooker I found it to be very functional. The cooker is easy to use and the rice comes out nice every single time. Different types of rice takes different cooking times obviously and it also depends on how well you want the rice to be cooked. So far I tried white rice, and brown rice. And made porridge with brown rice. All came out well. I cooked brown rice for an additional 5 minutes to suit my needs but many people might not need it. As people from different cultures use different types of rice and their exists lots of varieties in Asian stores (I have seen rices that I have never heard of) I can’t confirm the exact cooking time. In general brown rice takes longer. I don’t like the idea of having an internal battery that is not easy to replace . Overall a great addition to my kitchen during this holiday season. I would give it a 4.5.

Perfect Rice Every Time!
I've owned several rice cookers over the years, and this is hands-down the best. I love the variety of settings it provides. Everything from white rice and brown rice to GABA rice and porridge comes out perfectly cooked. Preparation is a breeze and I don't have to worry about mushy or burnt rice anymore. Also, the keep-warm function is excellent, keeping the rice moist and delicious for hours without drying it out. It's incredibly easy to use, clean, and the quality is exceptional. If you eat a lot of rice, this cooker is a worthwhile investment. Worth every penny.

First Use=Perfect Rice
I just got this rice cooker yesterday (11/16/25) and used it to make brown rice. The rice came out perfect which is a big deal because I have managed to mess up rice in my old rice cooker. The cooker itself is so cute with the pink color and the pot that goes inside feels like much nicer quality compared to my $35 rice cooker. While the cooker is very easy to use, the instruction manual could use some reformatting. I appreciate that it is very detailed, but sometimes I like to just get to the point with a quick set up guide. I am very happy with this purchase overall!

Just right - solid pick
I had a tiger and it finally broke. I wasn't looking for something fancy, more so consistency, durability and reliability. I bought a replacement Zojirushi (nothing fancy but simple warm/cook button design) and found that it was a bit cheaper in quality (likely a China factory vs Japan model), the inner lid was so flimsy. I tried the Panasonic with no LED screen but 4 or 5 modes, button panel but did not like the fact that you could not remove the lid or the inner lid for cleaning but to it's credit it worked well despite that. I heard good things about Cuckoo so I decided to try this even if it was fancier than I'd want but for the sale price I couldn't argue. Pros: - cooker pot was heavy duty! The weight and thickness was solid so probably accounts for their claim of cooking faster and evenly via induction plate - inner lid can be removed for cleaning - inner lid thicker than other major brands - diameter aka footprint is compact compared to the tradition rounded with the handled lid. Certainly is a more streamlined design. Cons: - I just don't like the "slick" touch panels with a button behind them because eventually the plastics begin to crack and separate. It happens to all after so many presses (washers, dryers, dishwashers, etc). Functionally it's fine, I just know what's coming in the future. Never had to worry about that with the simple warm/cook toggle lever. I will update when the panel plastic cracks but otherwise, it has left a better impression than my past Tiger - japanese made, Zoji - china and Panasonic - japanese. Again, this is compared to the basic+ models, not the fancy touch screen wifi enabled Alexa controlled blah blah blahs. If you want a just fancy enough workhorse that is easy to maintain and use, this is a good pick. Update: After some uses, I confirm it is a solid pick. The rice comes out consistent and the maintenance is easy enough. I tried the firm and sticky rices and they come out as expected. Your water level is key, I find a good rinse and a sit in the water for 10 min before cooking get it just right what I like the texture to be. I haven't tried brown rice or anything but I have tried steaming frozen dumplings and shrimp shumai - nice job (clean it down asap after the shrimp shumai to prevent the seafood taste to leak into the next batch of rice - I may just use something else but good to know this can steam that too). A good tip for that is put a light wipe of oil on the basket so dumpling or shumai delicate skins won't tear.

Great to keep my rice warm up to 48hrs!!
It's a perfect rice cooker for our family. It's a good size and easy to clean. We usually just cook up to 2cups per meal or day, so this size is PERFECT for us. It can keep the rice warm up to 48hrs without going yellowish, and the taste is still good! Highly recommended.

This rice cooker from south korea is a TANK. Cuckoo is amazing.
My family have always brought Tiger brand rice cooker from Japan which lasted 10-15 years but after these new style of space pod like cookers came out, the Tiger brand from Costco, it would always go bad due to a lack of ventilation and condensation after the second day. I have no idea why the new models does not have a water collecting cup like the previous tiger brand but alas, it was returned. I have heard of cuckoo brand from watching my favorite streamer on Twitch when she did a cooking stream and thus, the person who owns it is a chef. I decided to jump the gun and buy one. Out of of the box, it does look like the newer style pods one however, it has a water collecting cup! This means that the rice will stay good for a week! Sure enough, after cooking it, the rice came out perfect and stayed the same throughout the week! After reading the manual, I activated the "turn off" during night time, but "reheat" again starting at 4am and that further preserves the rice! I have no idea how South Korea manufactures rice cookers but this is the Cadillac of all rice cookers! I will never go back to another brand! Con: the buttons are extremely difficult to press, especially with no rubber feet for resistance. You will have to press in with the other hand holding the back of the rice cooker for resistance. Also, the top flings open when you open it so you should be prepared with the second to gently catch it. Easy start mode: To start cooking, press "cancel" (to cancel the reheat option) and press "cook." Press it again if you want turbo mode (supposedly cook rice faster but I rarely use it). Nonetheless, it takes two buttons (cancel and start) to start the rice instead of a lever like in the older style rice cooker. Takes 40 mins to cook rice. Well worth it. Big enough to feed a family of four.

Awesome rice cooker!
I've never had a rice cooker. Really didn't understand why a person would get one. After having this for a month. I understand. This is a fantastic unit, made in Korea. I believe this could go head-to-head with your Japanese rice cookers. It is virtually silent, in. The rice is perfect. I never knew that when it finishes cooking, it will keep it hot. Not just warm but steaming hot for 24 hours. If you desire. I use the same setting for both your typical sushi rice and basmati or Jasmine rice with flawless results every single time. Use the measuring cup that comes with it for your rice. Thanks, rinse it three times. Fill it up to the line of how many cups of rice you use and push the button. I've not had to do anything. I've used the white rice function in for both your aromatic and your standard sticky rices. With perfect results just amazing. Cannot say enough about the soda machine. I actually purchased a much more too costly one that is nearly $400 It was a Korean made induction pressure rice cooker. It was noisy and honestly very complicated to me. This machine however, put your rice and water in push a button in presto. I freaking love this little machine! I cannot go back.
