Will save you a lot of money in parts and machine work
I probably pushed this product quite a way past its designed use, but I had nothing to lose. I was rebuilding the Dana 80 rear diff on my f350 dually and found that both carrier bearings had rotated in the saddles of the housing itself. Not good. The housing was basically scrap so I tried this Loctite 660 to see if it would hold. Well, that was 2+ years ago now and it is still holding even after pulling a 24' enclosed trailer with my race car in it. Great product so far, hope it holds.

Easy To Use and Well Worth the Price
Thanks for creating such a good product. I used Titebond 660 to fill a gap between a 4mm axle housing and an 4+mm axle housing on one pedal on my baby grand piano. I believe that the repair will last another 115 years.

Wonder product from our friends at Loctite
Used this to fix a bit of shaft play when replaced bearings on my Whirlpool Duet washing machine. Ordered new bearings (from Amazon of course) and during assembly found the shaft had worn enough that the bearings wouldn't have gotten me all the way back to "fixed". Retaining compound is designed for this very specific application. Use a micrometer to determine your fill gap and order the right Loctite formula for your application. 660 was the right product for my gap, but they make other formulas for tighter and looser fits.

READ the Product Info FIRST !!
Read the product info first before jumping into your project. There are several types in the 600 series glue. The main item in this series of glue is how much gap it can fill in between the parts, and that is important. It can range from .005 inches to .025 inches. You don't want to use a 005" for a gap of .025".And certainly, you do not want to use .025" in a gap of .005"Otherwise, your project might fail, or you might be cursing when the parts are not fitting properly, like me.My problem was the machine work where the bearing race is mounted. It was snug at first. However, it did spin by hand where it was bottom out in its finally mounting point. I used Loctite 7649 Cleaner before my assembly. [see my review]. I applied glue to the bearing race and the mounting point. The race hung up on me at the staring point. Fortunately, I was able to reverse the process and remove the glue before it set.Between the cleaner and glue did cause some issues for me.Therefore, you really need to plan ahead, think things over and have all your tools close in hand. In order to do this job, I only only applied glue to the final mounting point for the bearing race. And my other two races fit in like the first did. Hope this help you in your assembly work. The other factors about this product series to note1...Set [cure] time2...Amount of torque it can handle3...Temperature Range [operating]
