Q: does it come with the stand and does the battery charge when light is plugged in?

Mine did not come with the pictured pole stand, it must be a add on accessory? I don't think it charges it's self. Great tool! Use it almost daily on battery, no cord hassles.

Q: Can I use a 3.0ah battery

I do, I usually use whatever is available at the time as I have both 4 and 3.0ah batteries. I carry extra batteries and change as needed, I have about 8 different Makita battery tools.

Q: Does it also charge for the battery when it's plugged in?

No it does not charge the battery.

Q: does this light work off a 110v generator

Yes it does, use it with honda eu2000
