It's ok for the money...but nothing special. I really bought it because I thought it would give me a decent tight metal tone with the noise gate built in. I use a noise gate at the end of my signal anyways, but I like the sticcato style of playing sometimes. I'm not going to say that it doesn't give you a tight feel to your playing, just not the texture of distortion to go with it. The highs are too shrill when used alone on my amp, and it's hard to dial it out with the tone knob because it gets too muddy. I have been able to get decent tones when stacking the pedal with other pedals, but I think there are better options..maybe something used perhaps. Not terrible, but not for me.

I like the versatility of this pedal because of the controls and the addition of a built-in noise gate is great. The gate doesn't 100% cancel out all noise if the pedal is at full volume and full gain, but it does help. As for tones, I've only used it with a kick drum synthesizer to add grit to the sound. The build quality is great. Also, it's better looking than I thought it would be based upon the photo. I was dreading getting a gross brown color, but it's more of bronze/copper metallic finish. I preciously saw this for 60 plus $, but for the cost being about half of that now, I think it's worth giving a try. The 30 return policy gave me the confidence to try it, unlike a few other pedals I recently bought and don't like which I'll now have to try to sell on my own at a loss.
