G8-17S-WW T4 G8 LED Halogen Xenon Replacement Light Bulb, 2.3W, 20W Equivalent, Under-Counter Lights, Puck Lights, Warm White 3000K, 5-Pack(Not Dimmable)

Bought some to try as replacements for 35W halogens in under-the-counter fixtures. Previously, I left some of the halogens out because the total heat was overwhelming. The resulting low light level drove my wife nuts. I put four of these LEDs in a fixture with one halogen. As far as I can tell, the light level and color (warm white) of an LED bulb is the same as that of the halogen. They also are almost exactly the same size, though my fixture has enough room that size is not an issue. You can actually touch the LED while it is on and it is merely warm; you can't touch the halogens after they have been on for a few seconds because they get so hot. (Also, you're not supposed to touch halogens with fingers even when installing, because the fingerprints plus the high heat weaken the glass.)I ordered some more to replace the remaining halogens. When I am done replacing a total of 15 bulbs, I will have reduced the total wattage from about 500W to about 40W, so we can leave the lights on without using much energy, and also without cooking everything in the area. And still get very bright light.My fixtures have a two-level switch. As others have noted, the Low setting is useless with these bulbs--they glow but don't cast much light. But I have no use for the Low setting.Since I just got them, I can't comment on LED bulb life expectancy, but I wasn't impressed by the halogen lifetime, so I'm sure they'll be fine.

I bought some of the cheaper G8 LED replacement bulbs previously, and they burned out or started flickering in a very short period of time (a few months). These have overall held up very well, do not require modification to the lamp base to fit my light fixture, run cool, and put out a nice quality light for an LED bulb. Would give 5 stars if not for one bulb failure, but even that one lasted longer than most of the halogen/xenon bulbs (and longer than any of the super cheap gel-coated LED replacements).

bought these to replace the bulbs in my under cabinet lights which took 20w halogen g8 bulbs.The light is a little brighter but still warm white in color very nicethe bulbs run so much cooler:checked with a contact thermometer on the glass of light fixture- 20w halogen 275F hero led bulb 92F.no more ruined bread from sitting under hot halogen lightsand we now leave our lights on much more THAN WE EVER DID WITH THE HALOGEN BULBS.GREAT PRODUCTThey don't last after 11 months of use i had 3 stop working claim 50000 hr life I DON'T THINK SO EVEN IF YOU LEAVE THEM ON 24/7 THATS COMES OUT TO 5.7 YRS

So far, so good. I just replaced 15 out of 16 of my undercounter, halogen, bulbs with these little babies. Prior to this, I had always had to run the lights on 'low', because of the heat (and, even on low, there was too much heat), but now... let there be LIGHT! Very bright, very cool, very nice. I probably won't replace the 16th (I don't think these can be purchased individually) because of the fact that I have something sitting on the counter at that location that kinda blocks the light anyway...Due to the size of the base, these bulbs may not always work as replacement bulbs for your halogen/xenon bulbs. I have seen bi-pin, led bulbs without the large base, but only low-voltage. I assume the large base is due to the fact that these are 120v bulbs. In my case, the internal reflector was soft metal, and 'tweak'able to allow the bulb to squeeze into place. Note that only the width of the base was a problem, the length, and other characteristics were fine. Although this was a bit of a negative for me, my rating does not reflect it because the pictures are accurate.At ~$13 each, they are expensive, but I can justify the cost because, 1) they will probably never need replacing (I hope), and 2) I can now use my under-counter lights at full power, all the time, whereas before, I only used them on low power, and only intermittently.- s.west

These bulbs are not worth the price, as they don't last very long. I would have given them 0 stars out of 5 if it would let me, but 1 star is the minimum. They are very bright and burn cool. Much better than the scorching hot xenon bulbs. At this price point I was hoping to get years out of these LED bulbs, but instead these are burning out in months! HERO-LED replaced one bulb that went bad. I had to follow up several times to make it happen. There was a bit of a language barrier and I had to jump through some hoops. They made me take a picture of the defective bulb next to a working bulb and email it to them. Then more follow up to hound them to send me one stinking bulb. Now a second bulb has burned out (see pictures of both burned out bulbs). I really liked the idea of switching over to LEDs to save on the electric bill, and to get away from the hot xenon bulbs, but I seriously doubt I'll recoup the money that I shelled out for these bulbs if they last less than a year.

Bought to replace under counter halogen bulbs. Way less lumens output and the color is not as warm which looked strange. Warm white was more of a blue light. Reason for three stars was good customer service they took back bulbs.
