Lots of lead for the price. The lead itself feels nice and sturdy and writes lightly like I wanted. Works great with my 0.5mm Twist-erase III.

Most leads found in stores are HB. 2B is softer and darker in comparison. Your hand doesn't get tired as quickly because you don't need to apply so much pressure on the paper while writing, and for that reason you don't have to grip your pencil as tight. It also doesn't "scratch" your paper like the HB, so writing long paragraphs in cursive is a lot easier. Since it is darker applying less pressure than you normally would with a HB lead still produces nice dark lines. Since these are polymer leads they also don't clog up your pencil like some of the ones with lower quality or the old school leads. One draw back is that you go through these a lot quicker. They are hard to find in stores and thankfully they have it here for a decent price.

If you are a person that uses lead pencils a lot you will love this lead. 2B breaks too easily and HB is not dark enough. The B lead is still a soft lead that writes easily and dark but does not break. I bought the .5mm and the .7mm lead and I prefer the .7mm lead pencils.

I like the B lead much better than the harder HB lead. It just writes darker and easier. Tough to find anywhere but online though.

I really like these. They are high quality, not breaking easily and writing smoothly as they should be writing. Pentel is one of those firms that you rely on no matter what for high quality staples.

As a math student, I write a lot. I've been writing with a PhD pencil for years now, but I've always used the standard HB lead that you can find at most stores. My paper was often scored from it, and erasing was a pain. So, I decided to look for a softer lead, and came across these. I get a much bolder line from the 2B leads, and my paper isn't nearly as scratched. My handwriting is also quite small, and I find that my homeworks written with the 2B lead are much easier for me to read than the ones written with the HB leads. I expected to be breaking more of these since they're softer, but it turns out that my expectations were wrong... I think the softness gives them a little more give. Over all, I highly recommend using 2B over HB if you write a lot with a mechanical pencil!
