Works Better Than Expected – Great Humane Pest Solution
I’ve been using the Broox 2026 Upgraded Solar Animal Repellent for a few weeks now, and it has made a noticeable difference in keeping animals out of my yard. The motion detection works reliably, and I like that it’s solar-powered so there’s no need to worry about batteries or wiring. It has helped deter squirrels, stray cats, and even deer without harming them, which was important to me. The waterproof design has held up well through rain and changing weather. Setup was simple, and once installed, it just works in the background. Overall, this is a great option if you want an effective and humane way to protect your outdoor space.

Animals don’t like it here anymore!
I just moved into a house last year and prior, I never really had to deal with animals pooping on my property living in a big city high rise. For months, we had so many unwelcomed guests and I even thought about extending my fence and putting some spikes on them. Thank goodness, I didn’t go there! We had foxes, raccoons, cats, wombats, and other mysterious creatures visiting mostly at night. I had never seen a product like this before but a friend we knew recommended a similar deterrent to us. Initially, I wasn’t convinced a small green box could produce such effective results. I read all of the reviews (mostly only highly rated ones) and did an experiment with Broox’s latest model and another competitor with very high reviews. Many of them had negative reviews with little success but I was curious so we took the risk to find out. The hugest difference for me was Broox’s performance and stellar customer service out of the two I purchased. I believe they are a family owned business and I’ve never in my entire life of purchasing anything on Amazon have experienced such a high level of care from a company for their customers. The initial Broox unit I purchased outperformed the competitor unit. The other box was about $15 cheaper. It was totally worth it for me that I had to purchase 3 more for our remaining yard and one extra one for my friend to try out who had a cat infestation in her yard. We purchased these over a month ago and they didn’t work right away but now we have zero complaints. The sounds can be very disturbing if you’re not used to them and we were given very clear tips and suggestions for the type of animals which have worked like magic. Currently, I’m in disbelief at how great these work. We have many cameras all over my property and I haven’t seen a single trespasser enter our yard in weeks. It’s rained a lot this month and the units are still going strong. We had no issues setting them up and they look and feel very durable compared to the other brands. I truly hope the results continue to work because every home owner who has unwanted visitors needs this product all over their property. The Broox team is phenomenal on both a human and product performance level. Thank you so much for creating this incredible device!

Well Built & Provides Reliable Operation
The Broox Solar Animal Repellent seems well made and features 5 different modes along with adjustable sensitivity. Enclosed in the box is the repellent, two stakes, a USB charging cable, and a card with an email to register the repellent for a 5-year warranty and gift. The manual is fairly clear, but page 8 mentions a charging indicator light when charging the repellent via USB cable, which I could not locate on the repellent. I charged the repellent 8 hours per the manual and stuck it outside to do its job, which it does fairly well. The manual mentions the IP code of the repellent is IP44, meaning it will operate normally under normal rainfalls, but should be removed during a rainstorm. This is somewhat difficult to do during hot summer days due to pop-up thunderstorms that could occur while you’re away from home. There was one instance where a thunderstorm popped up while I wasn’t home and the repellent was exposed to heavy rain, which didn’t seem to affect it as it still works normally. I wouldn’t recommend continuous exposure to heavy rain, and one review mentioned placing a quart-sized plastic food bag (perfect fit) over the Broox and zip the bag closed underneath on either side of the short stake, which apparently doesn’t affect operation. The solar battery charging, replaceable batteries, and adjustable sensitivity are huge pluses. I test it weekly by doing a slow walk by and it alarms without fail. At lower sensitivity settings, it does not alarm for smaller animals like squirrels and small birds, and is not prone to false alarms like another repellent I purchased from Amazon which went off randomly and repeatedly from just the wind. I bought the Broox repellent to use in conjunction with a low height goose fence to help deter geese walk-ins. I use Mode 4 (flashing + alarm sound) with sensitivity at the lowest setting because I want to detect large slow-moving geese, not squirrels and other small birds which I welcome into my backyard. I had a small gaggle of about six geese apparently tripped the repellent, and they went about their business, as in they stayed out of my backyard. While the Broox repellent may have handled a small gaggle of geese, I have had gaggles upwards of 30 geese approach my backyard in the past, but not since I installed the Broox repellent. Whether it will scare off such a large gaggle remains to be seen. A larger gaggle may require a second repellent which I am considering. The Broox repellent Mode 3 emits ultrasonic frequencies between 20KHZ - 25KHz, which may prove useful in deterring geese. The prevalent school of thought is that birds cannot hear ultrasound. However, after doing a little research, I found that some birds, including geese, are able to perceive certain ultrasound frequencies. Dr. Philip Whitford, PhD, experimented with a goose in a lab environment by testing its' reaction to a 22,000 (Hz) / 22Khz burst of sound. The goose toppled over instantly, became rigid, and the eyelids flickered open and closed. After the ultrasound stopped, the goose recovered and stood, seemingly unharmed. The experiment was repeated several times with the same results. The Broox repellent is a powerful tool which will help ward off unwanted animals in your yard.

Good Product - Broox stands behind their product
I purchased two Broox Solar Animal Repellent devices in July 2024. The devices worked for about a year, but over time I noticed moisture developing inside the solar induction lamp. Eventually, one device partially worked while the other completely stopped working. I tried troubleshooting to see if I could get them working again and decided to replace the batteries with new NiMH rechargeable batteries. When I opened the battery compartment, I discovered that the metal battery contact in one device was heavily rusted. Even with the new battery installed, that device no longer worked. The second device also showed rust, but I was able to clean most of it off. Although some rust remains, that device is now working again with the new rechargeable batteries. I was hesitant to purchase another Broox Solar Animal Repellent because the two devices I bought in 2024 barely lasted a year (the warranty period for the 2024 model was one year). Broox is now advertising the 2025 model as an upgraded version with an IP65 rating instead of IP44, along with a five-year warranty rather than one year. I contacted the Broox team, and they confirmed that the 2025 model is indeed an improved version. Given the durability issues with my 2024 devices, I felt it was expensive for a product to last only about a year. I shared my concerns with the Broox team, especially since I am unsure how long the second device will continue to work, even with new batteries. To address my situation, the Broox team sent me a replacement device. Although the warranty for the 2024 model had already expired, Broox stood behind their product and was responsive in resolving the issue. Overall, despite the durability concerns with the earlier model, I appreciate Broox’s customer support and willingness to help. I would recommend the Broox Solar Animal Repellent to anyone looking for a humane way to keep animals such as dogs, cats, deers, etc out of their yard.

Deer deterrance
Deers / Groundhogs / Rabbits destruct most of our flower and vegetable garden. We see our flowering garden may be a day or two as deers will come (from any direction of our home) clear all the buds and blooms. I was on hunt for deer repellents and looking into different products to deter them by sound / lights or by any other means. I bought 4 of these and setup on 4 entry points to deter deers with an alarm sound based on motion sensor detection. This product is working so far as it was marketed, except for one (with heavy rains, water seeps inside the product and it will stop working until the water dries out). Any of these products will work as long as we can keep the deers not getting used to those sounds. Needs to change to a different setting and placement to keep them away from your space. Hopefully, eventually they get "untrained" not to come after your garden. I have set this product on Alarm and the sound it makes is loud. Curstomer service: 5 Stars for their timely responses and follow-up. After registering my products by email, as reward for buying 4 items, I was provided with another brand new one at no cost, without me asking anything (Surprised, and Thanks to them). Build quality: Very reasonable. The only thing I would like to see is, the stake should have a tight fit (locking fit) to the repellent and the reason I didn't give a 5 stars (I would give 4.5 stars for this product). Result: So far with my mix and match of products (Sprays & Lights) along with this, I was able to see some beagutiful flowers both in my front and back yards. So, I'm happy about it. Great CS, product does function the way, it says it would. Easy setup, re-chargeable batteries with solar panel on top. Product suggestions: Inter-locking stakes including attaching to the body would be amazing. For now, once you place the (2 piece) stake, if you remove, the bottom-one will stuck inside the ground (if it is totally in-ground).

This Broox repellent is a solid choice
I’ve been using the Broox 2026 Upgraded Solar Animal Repellent in my backyard for a week now, and overall I’m very pleased with it — especially considering how easy it is to set up and maintain. From the moment it arrived, installation was a breeze. You can stake it directly into the ground or mount it where you get the best sunlight exposure — no tools, wires, or complicated setup required. It’s fully solar-powered with a backup USB charging option, which means I haven’t had to worry about batteries or plugs at all. Once in place, the motion sensor reacts quickly when critters wander close — within about 20-25 feet and a wide 110° detection arc — and triggers the ultrasonic sound combined with flashing LED lights to encourage pests to move along. You won’t hear the ultrasonic waves (they’re above the human hearing range), but they definitely seem to influence the local wildlife. Here’s what stood out to me: ✅ Humane and eco-friendly — The ultrasonic system and flashing light deter animals without traps, poison, or harm. ✅ Low maintenance — Solar charging works well on sunny days, and the unit has proven weather-resistant in rain and wind. ✅ Adjustable settings — Multiple modes allow you to tailor the signal to different pests, which helps when patience is needed for the best results. ✅ Build quality — It feels sturdy and well-constructed for outdoor use

Works But is Situation Dependent and Some Animals Get Used to It
First, I would have given this product 3.5 starts if I was allowed. I have a problem with squirrels getting into my garden and plants and digging things up. They also like to chew up my squash. I bought two of these and they do help, but they are only part of the solution for my situation. First, the garden is accessible to the little buggers from any direction so there is a coverage problem. Second, after less than a month the animals are already used to the noise. I was using setting 4 which is the loud noise that humans can hear and flashing lights. This is only really useable for me on days with little wind because it goes off constantly even on the lowest sensitivity. However, one day this week was calm so I used setting 4 instead of 5 which I had been using. The device starts going off and I was on a call for work so I did not check it immediately. It kept going off so I thought the wind had picked up. Nope- one squirrel was in the potted plant where I had placed the device. It was going off right in his ear as he was throwing my potting soil out of the pot- maybe he's deaf because he only ran away when he saw me as I opened the door. I did not return the items because I think setting 5 is more annoying to the squirrels and they have not chewed up as many squash since I got it. I also had to buy some plastic spikes to keep them out of my plants. These are definitely a good idea, but the device cannot tell the difference between an animal and swaying plants when the wind blows. I did not expect it to for $50. Maybe they will make an AI version in the future. If you have a partially enclosed outdoor space with only one area of approach then I believe this would be all you would need. In my case if I really wanted to deter the squirrels, I would most likely need 2 or 3 more to place on the outer edge of my entire garden. I did consider doing just that until I saw the squirrel completely ignoring the device. The product will have limited utility over time in my opinion in situations like mine. Update 9-26-24: The vendor contacted me through Amazon and offered to send me an additional device for free and tips on how to improve coverage. Regardless of the outcome, you have to appreciate that level of customer service in today's world. It is pretty rare so regardless of your exact problem. I don't think you can go wrong with this company.
