Kombucha Revolution: 75 Recipes for Homemade Brews, Fixers, Elixirs, and Mixers Review: Kreative Kombucha Recipes - Stephan Lee, cofounder of Tazo Tea, Stash Tea and Kombucha Wonder Drink, shares some of his favorite ways to enjoy kombucha besides just drinking it as is after brewing. Who knew there were so many things one could do with this brew of tea, sugar and water, fermented with the help of a SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) that can be made at home? I bought the Kindle version which included some nice photographs along with the recipes. The recipes themselves are very clear and easy to follow. He also includes a recipe for the basic kombucha along with simple instructions. I had never even heard of Kombusha before a few months ago when I was reading an article on probiotics where it was mentioned. I found some in a local grocery store, purchased a bottle, and loved the sweet/tart flavor right away. After buying a few more bottles I decided to try making it myself and have been doing it ever since. I wanted some more ideas on how to flavor it, which is why I purchased this book. I found all sorts of ideas beyond just flavors, such as adding it to smoothies, using it in desserts, cocktails and letting it ferment a little longer and making kombucha vinegar and salad dressings. I found this book very useful, not only for the creative recipe ideas but because he gave me lots of ideas of other things to try, ways to "think out of the bottle" so to speak. His writing is clear and to the point and entertaining to read. I found it more helpful to have a lot of ideas in one place rather than having to search around the Internet. This is not your mother's kombucha cookbook! Review: Best book on subject I have found - I first got this out of the library because I had wasted money on other kombucha books that did not give me the detailed explanation I needed to make kombucha. As a relative beginner (about 3 months now), this books goes into perfect detail how to make the initial kombucha and then how to do 2nd fermenting. It answered a lot of questions that kept coming up for me that other books did not answer (like how to take apart the SCOBY, whether I could use the old one again, how to store it, etc.). I can't really explain it, but it just covered all my questions that other books and/or websites did not. After reading it, I promptly ordered it from desertcart (just waiting for it to arrive) so as to have it as my main reference guide for my kombucha making. I also liked the many recipes using plain kombucha as an ingredient. The author seems to have a lot of fun with it as an ingredient.

great recipes for Kombucha
This book has some of the best Kombucha recipes I have tried. Since my family and I have certain standards regarding the type of sugars we consume, I am pleased to say that our alternatives actually worked with the recipes in this book. The one con I have to say about this book is that it does not show you have to make your own scuba. I had to learn that through other source. From all the recipes we have tried, the were all an success and quite delicious.

Wanna learn how to make Kombucha? Stephen Lee wrote the book for you!
YUM YUM --- I love Kombucha and I love the recipes in this book as well as the bountiful information the author shared. I can't believe I never tasted a drop of this elixir during my first 60 years of life. I attended a class in Kombucha making, then I bought this book and am happy to say that I've got three batches currently in the making, lots and lots of Kombucha in secondary fermentation stages and more finished & bottled Kombucha than I can drink (so I give it away to family members), Kombucha vinegars for salads, plus so many healthy baby SCOBYs I always give plenty of 'em away, too. This book was very valuable to me as a beginner, for it gave me plenty of confidence when I needed it most, and remains a great reference for recipes I haven't tried, but will as soon as I find more space in the kitchen to do that!

This is a great book that goes beyond the free information and recipes ...
This is a great book that goes beyond the free information and recipes you can find online. Yes, there is only one chapter about kombucha and flavoring recipes but you can find endless information about brewing kombucha and flavoring it online for free. What makes this book unique are all of the suggestions for what you can DO with kombucha once you have it. I never would have thought to make dressings, marinades, cocktails, or even a body scrub with kombucha. So far, I've tried a few cocktails and sauces and they've come out really tasty. Considering that the only thing I had to buy to make kombucha was a box of tea (because a friend gave me a scoby and starter liquid), this book was a good investment.

There's a lot I like about this book - the feel
There's a lot I like about this book - the feel, the colors, occasional crisp photos, personal stories and, above all, uses for Kombucha you likely never thought of. I purchased this book hoping it would inspire new bold creations for me, and it has. Despite this, I have a big issue with its first chapter, which deals with standard kombucha infusions. The pages are 90-99% carbon copies of each other. As in literal copy and paste directions for 10 paragraphs, save slight variations (such as using one fruit's juice rather than another.) It feels like the book was 'fluffed' in this regard, and for someone who just cracked this open to read from beginning to end, seeing carbon-copy infusion ideas for 30 pages made me want to throw the book away in disappointment. However, persevere! Beyond Chapter 1 the pages are heavily individualized with many great ideas. If you're interested in learning various ways to use your kombucha in meals, alcoholic drinks or dressings, or are brand new to the world of brewing and would like a walk-through process of how to brew, I would recommend this book to you. If you're already comfortable in how to brew and experiment fairly comfortably with what to do with your Kombucha besides just drinking it, I'd say there are likely other books or blogs out that that can provide most of the insight this book could offer you.

This book arrived packaged well, without damage. I was pleasantly surprised I got a used book in new shape, at a great price. I was able to use the starter tea recipe inside and brew my first batch of kombucha successfully. Lots of recipes for me to try and beautiful photographs. I would not hesitate to buy from this seller again.
