Gemma the Gymnastics Fairy (Rainbow Magic: Sports Fairies #7) Review: Great books for ages 4-7 - My children are in love with these books! Even though the premise of each book is very similar to the next, each adventure that Rachel and Kirsty go on with their fairy friends helps teach kids how to overcome adversity, be friendly, and to believe in yourself. Jack Frost uses his goblins to steal fairy magic items causing mischief and mayhem in both fairyland and the human world. It is up to these two girls to find the magic items and return them to the fairies that they have been taken from. Each book usually has a secret code in it for the kids to figure out too! Fun to read to the kids, and makes a great game to play at home, I of course, am a goblin and the girls are fairies getting their magic back from me, a lot of tickling ensues! Innocent fun for the whole family! Review: Great on the go - I downloaded Gemma the Gymnastics Fairy Gemma the Gymnastics Fairy book to the kindle app. on my phone one day waiting in the car with my 7yr. old. She loves to read and had no books in the car that day. I handed the phone to her and she never let out a peep. Went to the grocery store and she begged to read in the cart. I also downloaded Belle the Birthday Fairy (Rainbow Magic Special Edition) and the Pet Fairies Series Pet Fairies Series . She loves them all.

Good book for early reader
Bought this for a six year old who is really into chapter books. The images are cute and colorful, the text is simple and entertaining. Nice paper, nice fonts. The six-year old really enjoyed reading it by herself. Worth the money.

Formulaic, but perfect for emerging reader
My six year old daughter loves every one of these books. They are, by nature, very formulaic, but that's a wonderful thing for encouraging new readers to read longer texts because they are familiar already with the structure of the story. I love the wide variety of topics available and feel that there's something for literally every interest...and enough to spark new interests.

The Unknown Completion
My 8 yr old granddaughter is an aspiring gymnast. To encourage her, I found and sent this book. I received a call from the excited child telling me how great the book is, and how did I know that she needed this one to complete her series. Still don't know how I knew, but it was the perfect accident. Very good book from a fine series.

These fairy books are good for a beginning reader
The subject material is pretty fluffy. Personally I get annoyed by "girly" products that make it seem as if true conflict never exists in a girly world. But I understand the reason for it and the good news about this whole series is that there is very little in there to trouble most parents. The content is whitewashed thoroughly. My daughter has probably read 20 of these books (there are many many many more) from varying series and so far I haven't seen anything to be of concern. And she enjoyed them enough to want to read more - excellent news for the parent of a child who isn't an avid reader! They are good practice for young readers (probably around 1st/2nd grade) but any older than that will not be challenged and will get bored quickly.

Gemma is a gem!
I bought this book for my granddaughter who goes to gymnastics once a week and she loved Gemma. The story is really cute and I've been reading it over and over to her since she's 4 and doesn't read yet on her own.

Great book for my 2nd grader!
My 2nd grader who is a bit ahead in reading had this book finished in 2 nights. This was our first book from this series and she is already asking for another one!

The book that I received had the newer cover design. This wouldn’t matter if you were just wanting to read the book, but I was specifically after the old cover design.
