Lots of giggles and good audience participation
My 4 year old grandson adores this book. The general concept is that the narrator is reading a different, more traditional, story when... a Crocodile appears! Now... How do we usher him out of our story? This involves several interactive ploys that keep a youngster excited and interested, For the most part the book is easy to read aloud with the sort of rhythm and voice range that appeals to little ears. We had to arrive very early for Pre-K one morning and brought books to fill the time. We were reading this when the others began arriving and I quickly acquired a rapt audience. My grandson's First Steps therapists stressed anticipation and repetition as being important learning tools and there's certainly anticipation here. He's usually yelling 'It's a crocodile!' before I can turn the page. The crocodile escape gimmick is a physical hole in the back of the book. This feature beckons to little fingers so you might consider re-enforcing the opening as it will likely get bent and tear.

Great for a 3 year old!
This book is so cute and reminds me of "There's a Monster at the End of this book," (one of my old favorites!) It is interactive and comical. My daughter loves it!

Clever, clever book!!
My three year old grandson LOVES this book!! We first checked it out at the library and he had me read it to him 10x in a row the first time we sat down with it. This is a book best as a board book because the littles want to put their hand through the hold the alligator ate through the book. (Spoiler alert! =) )

so fun. It's a cute story about a crocodile trapped ...
My 5 yo daughter loves interactive books. But they are hard to find on her reading level. This one isn't really interactive but is so, so fun. It's a cute story about a crocodile trapped in a kid's book. She really loved me reading it to her. It isn't on her reading level but is on her intellectual level.

Great book for the kiddos!
I would definitely recommend this book to add to your collection of children's books. My 7 year old enjoys it just as much as my 3 year old twins do. Plus from a mom's point of view it's not horrendously long when it's bedtime and everyone is worn out and you just want a simple fun book to read.

Short, Fun, and Interactive
The crocodile is stuck in the book! This interactive read aloud is so much fun, and my kids ages 2 and 4 beg to read it. The only reason I wouldn't give it five stars is because it feels a little too short for some reason, but that's great for kids who have short attention spans.

Two Fatal Flaws!! Read before purchasing.
There are some great things about this book. Similar to "Press Here" a far better action book, this book has directions to shake or tilt the book to move the story along. But "Press Here" does it much better better with in erasing complexity and terrific humor. There are two problems with this book for me. 1) part of the conflict t resolution involves a character scribbling in a book. If you know toddlers and preschoolers at all, you do not want to encourage scribbling in a book. 2) the way the character resolves his fear of the beast by drawing a tutu on him. That is to say, turning him into a girl! That astounded me! Did the author and publisher consider the message this sends to boys and girls? The character could t have just imagined the beast in sleeper pajamas or a bathing suit or a birthday hat?It may be that the better aspects of this book outweigh the two points that I've raised. But for me and my grand children the books offers very little. If you want a fun, silly. Interactive book to read, where kids will have a chance e to identify colors, count, follow directions and laugh heartily, then skip this one and buy Press Here.

Nice idea but not my favorite
I purchased the book because we like Nicola O’Byrne’s books. The idea of the book is definitely something new and the illustrations are very pretty, too. Still, it’s not our favorite! My daughter rarely wants me to read it to her…As I’ve purchased the book for only 3€, I don’t mind that much but I’d be unhappy if I had payed more than that!
