Plan before assembling
We bought two (2) packages of these (48 tiles total) and used 42 to create a 12' x 14' workout space in our (before COVID) formal living room. These were placed over a hardwood floor for two purposes: protecting us (padded) and protecting the floor (shield from sweat and scuffing.)Please note that we like these tiles however:1. They are a bit uneven in appearance. Not color, but sheen -- some are noticeable more matte in appearance. If you're OCD on having a uniform appearance you'll want to unpackage them all, spread them out and plan how you're putting them together. Note when you're doing this that they are not reversible. If you flip one over, it will not interlock the rest. In the end, we decided we didn't care that much.2. They are not perfectly the same thickness. A few had some thickness variation (<3/32") that we noticed and played around with placement to try and get as smooth a transition between tiles as possible. Perhaps use and time would make them all uniform, but we chose to reposition a few to try and ensure there were no raised edges to catch a shoe on or to be noticeable to a barefoot.3. When placed on a wood floor they slide. We've ended up with anti-slip rug padding to keep them set in place. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MFR6ZUU) The slip was disconcerting, though not dangerous in our case, but that bit of slide, would, over time, scuff the floor beneath. This moderated the excellent buy of this product a bit and would be completely unnecessary if either you have something on top of it (equipment) or were cutting it to completely fill an area from wall to wall.Overall, they're a pleasure to be on when barefoot, they are lightly "slippy" in socks, and feel like they will be durable to sneakers as long as you're not spending a lot of time doing pirouettes.

Great quality and a good buy for the amount of floor coverage!
Surprised by the quality of the mat and how easy the pieces fit together. The fact that these are 3/4 in thick makes a huge difference in the quality and after 1 month they appear to be holding up quite well. My weight bench is very heavy and there are no indentions in the surface of the mats plus I've dropped the 50lb dumbbells on the mats with no damage so far. As you can see in the pics the flooring can be configured to fit your workout area and the coverage in the pic is 12' x 16'. The floor coverage was great for the amount of money spent, ordered 2 sets for $270! The equivalent coverage with the more expensive brands with so so reviews were several hundreds of dollars higher. The only thing that may bug some is the color variations in some of the tiles, not a big issue for me. Highly recommend if you want to get a great workout floor and save some serious money.

Great mat for your home gym!
I liked the idea of having a little extra padding than the thinner 3/8" mats that I started with, but I was concerned that my equipment might sink more into this thicker 3/4" mat. I took a chance anyway and bought these - I'm glad I did! The foam is a dense closed cell so my equipment doesn't sink into it even as much as with the thinner mats, and while firm the mat certainly does a better job of providing a cushioned surface. Also since it's in my attached but unheated garage it does a great job of insulating my feet from the concrete floor! And I like the fact that the thicker material provides more surface area at the joints so that the tiles seem to lock together more securely. One thing I learned from my previous flooring that I did differently this time around is to order the clear Meister Premium Mat tape on Amazon (Meister Premium Mat Tape for Wrestling, Grappling and Exercise Mats - Clear - 3" x 84ft - 3 Rolls ) to help secure the pieces together and also to prevent any moisture from migrating through the cracks and leaving mineral deposits at the joints - something I had to deal with before I upgraded to this thicker foam flooring. Also my son and I use this area for exercises that involve movement (jump rope, shadow boxing, practicing MA katas) so I've laid down some thin mats (AmazonBasics High Density Exercise Equipment and Treadmill Gym Floor Mat - 4 x 6 Feet, Black) on top of the foam in those areas where we practice so that there's less chance that we'll do some damage at the joints, which happened on the thinner floor mats. This is probably overkill, but this thicker tile mat costs quite a bit more than the 3/8" thick ones and the AmazonBasics mats are relatively cheap insurance and they add a little more padding.Note that if you do damage one side of the mat it has the texture finish on both sides so you could flip it over and have a "new" surface.I've been using these mats now for several months and I am very satisfied with their performance. I expect that they will last me for years to come.
