So I bought these a few days ago, I placed one in my refrigerator and another in my husbands car. Although the dog smell hasn't been fully removed from his car, it isn't as over powering as it was before. Meanwhile, for the refrigerator, it worked wonders. I've been trying to remove that refrigerator smell for a while now, it didnt matter how many times I cleaned it and even after I placed a baking soda deodorizer, the smell still remained. But with one baggy, on the top rack of the fridge, I was able to smell the difference within hours of placing it. Although it hasnt completely removed the smell, I am just glad it has somewhat removed it. I will possibly add a second bag into the fridge to see if that will completely remove the smell,

works great for pet odor

We had a refrigerator/freezer in a garage that lost power while we were away for a while, and all the contents (including meat) spoiled. The odor was rancid. We bought all kinds of cleaning and odor removing products from a local store, kept the garage doors open, and basically took the fridge apart and cleaned/sanitized all the parts. The odor persisted even after several weeks of working on it. We were prepared to get rid of the appliance, even though it was less than a year old. After doing some research, I ordered these charcoal bags as a last ditch effort. Admittedly, my hopes were not very high. However, after placing several of the charcoal bags in the garage and inside the open and unplugged refrigerator, within a week the odor was gone. Not even a whiff of the rancid smell. I am a believer in their effectiveness now for sure!

I have all 4 of them clipped side by side on a hanger, right next to the litterbox, so they are not lying flat and have maximal surface area (both sides) exposed to the air. They work fine for the first week (if being generous; it's really more like the first half of the week) after refreshing them in the sun, but the smell of the litterbox is noticeable afterwards (we clean the litterbox daily, and use wood/pine litter mix). We live in California so we can sorta get by with weekly refreshes, but it's definitely not as good at eliminating odor as I hoped =/

Just received it today. I got it to put in the car to keep it odorless and fresh. We will see how it goes but so far I really like everything about it, huge pros for me is that it looks really pretty and gives that organic feel. Will update if the rating changes. Thanks! 😊

Just as other reviewers mentioned these pillows totally eliminate odors. I have used them for two years now and I still have the original pair of eight I purchased. Leave them in the sun for 8 hours to rejuvenate them. I accidentally washed and dried one and it also worked better that way. And you only notice they are working when they stop working and the odor returns or you remove them. For unsavory bathroom odors, I close the lid and sit it right on the toilet seat. The odor is gone in 5 minutes.
