My hair is very fine and straight
My hair is very fine and straight, and I don’t have very thick hair. I have been using an “extra body” shampoo for ages to get my hair to at least give it the appearance of having some body, some bounce. When I first read about cleansing conditioners I was skeptical. My hair is already oily and needs to be washed daily, and I have avoided conditioners since all they seem to do is weigh my hair down and make it look greasy straight out of the shower.I don’t blow dry my hair or use a curling iron. I do dye it, which I know damages it.Having said all of that, when I came across this product and read all of the wonderful reviews, I figured, hey, for the money, I can afford to give it a try.The people who write about the scent are dead-on. It smells AMAZING and it feels wonderful as you work it into your hair. When it was time to rinse it out I rinsed for a long time because my hair felt so soft and silky that I wasn’t sure it was all out. Then I towel-dried it and combed it out – NO TANGLES! At all! When my hair was dry I brushed it out. I was enjoying the feeling of having silky-smooth hair, and it didn’t have any less body than it does when I use my “extra body” shampoo. The big test for me was yet to come. I wash my hair in the evening because mornings are a zoo at my house. I put a clean pillowcase on because my hair and face get oily when I sleep. I wondered how it would look the next morning.I do have to say that the smell, while wonderful at first, doesn’t go away and it got sort of annoying to me, to be constantly smelling my hair every time I moved. Even the next morning, the smell was still pretty strong, and I worry if this will be an issue at my “no scents allowed” job. It’s not a bad smell. I just want it to eventually go away.Having said that, my hair looked great the next morning. It was shinier, bouncier, and less scraggly-looking than with my shampoo. It looked like well-nourished, healthy hair. I was impressed. Not oily-looking at all. I loved the way it looked!!This is definitely worth the money (no more expensive than a “good” shampoo). Like I said, my only issue is that that wonderful smell that I enjoyed so much at first became sort of annoying when it followed me everywhere for the entire day after using the product. I would love it if this were offered in a non-scented option.Buy it! Try it! You will be happily surprised with the results.

Cheaper alternative to Wen - ABSOLUTELY BUY THIS
Let me start out by saying that I absolutely love this product. It leaves my hair feeling clean and smelling fresh without damaging it. I am a germaphobe and think that many people smell badly without even realizing it. I shower twice daily (which some may think is excessive) and I realize that washing my hair with drugstore shampoos every day can be extremely damaging. This product truly changed my life. I am now able to wash my hair daily (I feel so much cleaner when I wash my hair and not just my body) without it becoming damaged. For the people reading reviews in an attempt to find a cheaper alternative to Wen, PLEASE try this product. I used Wen for two years and absolutely loved the results - however, I wasn't a huge fan of how much money I was spending on my hair each month. My college roommate learned about Herbal Essences Cleansing Conditioner and recommended that I try it. I have now been using this for two years and love it even more than Wen. Some other reviews say that the scent is very strong, and I do agree with this. However, I actually really like the scent and don't find it to be a problem - and this is coming from someone who usually hates both strong smells and mint. This cleansing conditioner has a fresh minty scent that stays on your hair all day without interfering with perfumes or body sprays. My boyfriend loves the smell and the fact that my hair is softer than ever while using this cleansing conditioner. All of that being said, I do have a few tips for use that will allow you to get the most out of your cleansing conditioner:-Follow the directions. Herbal Essences says "Massage 3-4 pumps into wet hair. Let it go to work for a few minutes, then rinse it out. That's it. Give your regular shampoo and conditioner a break." However, I would take this a step further. I found that when repeating the wash process and then using half a pump of cleansing conditioner as a leave-in works wonders (as Wen says to do).-Don't use this every day. Because you are essentially washing your hair with conditioner, using this product every day will weigh down your hair and make it look very flat and oily.-Rinse out very well. Because (as I said above) this product is a conditioner, it is very important to rinse it out very well in order to maintain volume in your hair. Those are all the tips I have for this awesome product. If you are on the fence about purchasing this product, I absolutely recommend it and would honestly pay a lot more for it. Thank you Herbal Essences for creating a more affordable (but just as amazing) option than Wen!

Love at first use!
I've only used this once but so far I love it! I have tried a cleansing conditioner before and found that it left an oily residue in my hair, but this one doesn't. I applied it like the instructions said (3-4 pumps--I have medium length to long, thick-ish hair--combed it through, waited a few minutes, then rinsed thoroughly) and am seriously impressed with the results! It takes way less time than shampooing and conditioning and my wavy, dry, tangle-prone hair feels great! It's not tangled or greasy and it feels clean and moisturized at the same time. Plus it smells great! I can't wait to keep using this product!

but created a lot of frizz for my fine curly wavy hair
It's a okay kind of product for me.. Decent cleansing and conditioning, but created a lot of frizz for my fine curly wavy hair.. Might be more suitable for thicker hair types..

great product, shipping not so great
Okay, a little back story! I have the opposite of average hair. SUPER hard to manage, unbelievably curly for someone that's fully white. and it's thin and dry, but I have a loot of it. If that makes sense. the frizz alone is just so annoying. looks great when I'm having a good hair day, but more often that not, that is not the case lol. anyone that has curly hair can understand that shampoo is definitely something you should not use on your hair every day. for me, this is not something that I realized up until about a year ago. I've been trying to ween my hair off shampoo altogether, but its extremely hard to manage with grease unless you want to wear a bun on the top of your head for weeks.I've tried just about all the Aveda products (used to work there), cocunut oil, various other cleansing conditioners, but this product is BY FAR the best. and the price!! you can't beat that. the trick when using it is to wet your hair completely. get a good 3-4 pumps of this in your hair and let it SOAK. there's been times where I've actually came out of the shower with it still fully in my hair, and rinsed it out maybe 20 minutes after. with COLD water, not hot. this seals the moisture in and besides, hot water is a no no for curly hair anyway.i would have gave this 5 stars, but when ordering this for the second time I ordered 3. After tracking the package, it said "delivered." however I in fact did not get it at all... Contacted customer service and they agreed to resend the order, assuming it got lost. And I don't want to complain because it's not their fault that it got lost in the mail or however, and i realize how it sounds when it said "delivered". But I paid for 3 a week ago, with express shipping. and now I'm still waiting for my order and I'm only getting 2. yes, the price in itself is great, but I'm far from having an appealing bank account. i'm wish I could just find this in stores so I wouldn't have to go through all the hassles of shipping complications.

Perfect for Dense, Curly, Fine Hair
As someone with dense, fine, crazy curly hair, I needed a cleanser for my hair that would properly clean my oily scalp without drying out my ends. Being both too poor and too cheap to continue using Deva Curl No Poo Shampoo, I have spent years searching for a comparable product. Co-Washes (e.g. As I Am) left my hair feeling too oily and left my scalp feeling itchy and disgusting. On the other hand, regular sulfate-free shampoos, even the moisturizing shampoos (e.g. Tresemme Naturals) were still too harsh for my fine hair.Herbal Essences Naked Cleaning Conditioner is heaven-sent. This is the first product I've tried that gave me results comparable to those achieved with Deva Curl No Poo shampoo. As soon as I applied to the product to my hair, my hair felt extremely moisturized. What really surprised me was how the shampoo actually helped with detangling my hair. I followed the directions exactly, and let the cleansing conditioner rest on my hair for a couple of minutes before rinsing it out. Not only did my hair feel moisturized, but my scalp felt extremely clean. I'll shave my head if they ever stop selling this product. I just can't go back to using anything else.

Same basic results for less money
Works quite well, quite fragrant, similar enough to the wen to make it a better buy.
