The Title Says It All
Bob Marley & The Wailers were truly a historical phenomenon that comes along a very few times. They brought a sound and belief system that truly shocked the world and became one of the few acts in music history to introduce a genre of music to the masses. LEGEND is a perfectly crafted album of some of their most wonderful and meaningful songs packaged in such a way that you get a synopsis of how truly incredible this band and Robert Nesta Marley were. Both have reached mythic proportions since Bob's death in 1981 and this album was a celebration of his songs and message. The success of this album can't be understated, it has spent close to 1,000 weeks on the billboard charts & another 760 plus weeks on the U.K. charts selling over 25 millions copies worldwide. Bob was a true poet, revolutionary, prophet and musical genius whose songs touched people right where and still have a profound effect even to this day. His songs helped to not only entertain but educate and consolidate, they were truly songs of revolutions around the world. The revolution was not just a physical or military one but mostly revolutions of ideals, thoughts and perceptions. He, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer were all 3 fantastic songwriters who lived what they wrote thus lending to it's legitimacy. Reggae as a genre truly came to the mainstream with this band and saw a tremendous development from Island Music to a form of expression that was adopted by most all of the top acts of that day in one way or another. Most of the songs are from Marley's albums after Tosh and Wailer had left to form their own bands, however, there are classics like "Get Up, Stand Up"; " Stir It Up" and "I Shot The Sheriff" from the time period when all three legends were still together. One of the constants is/was the songwriting and Marley stood front and center. He truly was a songwriter unlike no other, his songs and mode of delivery were truly spectacular and easily translated into his live shows which were themselves legendary and he still holds several records for attendance in many venues he performed in. I remember growing up how much of major thing it was when he released an album as we really hadn't heard anything like that before. This album is a fitting tribute to the man, his band, message and life. The world was truly blessed to have experienced the music of Bob Marley and The Wailers. We will never see anything like them again and I am so happy that I was alive to experience the magic of their music, message and the affect it had on many lives worldwide. They truly changed more that just music, they changed the way many thought and their songs gave strength, hope and fire to many an oppressed people to, as the song says, GET UP, STAND UP!

Great album, record quality is excellent
Not sure why others have complained about sound quality; it sounds pristine on my setup, which is a Technics SL-100C turntable with a Ortofon Quintet Blue MC cartridge. Connected to a Schiit Skoll preamp. Sounds clean. As far as volume, it might be a tad low compared to other albums but the difference is barely noticeable. The record has a slight warp, but again is negligible; no different from records I've bought at the local shop or online from Discogs. It arrived in a massively oversized box with no damage. If you want some Bob Marley in your collection but don't want his entire discography, this is a great album to own. I'd recommend it.

The best record ever!
Bob Marley's "Legend" record is an absolute masterpiece that encapsulates the unparalleled brilliance of the reggae legend. This compilation of his greatest hits is a musical journey through the soulful rhythms and profound messages that define Marley's legacy. The album opens with the iconic "Is This Love," setting the tone for a collection that spans his illustrious career. Each track is a timeless gem, from the uplifting "Three Little Birds" to the anthemic "Redemption Song." "Legend" is not just an album; it's a celebration of Marley's ability to blend infectious melodies with socially conscious lyrics. The production quality is superb, capturing the essence of Marley's distinctive voice and the authenticity of his reggae roots. Listening to it on vinyl adds an extra layer of richness, bringing out the warmth and depth of each note. What makes "Legend" truly exceptional is its universal appeal. It's a gateway for new listeners into the world of reggae and a nostalgic journey for longtime fans. The compilation's seamless flow tells the story of Marley's musical evolution, making it a perfect introduction to his vast body of work. Whether you're lounging on a sunny day or seeking inspiration, "Legend" is the go-to soundtrack. It's more than an album; it's a testament to the enduring legacy of Bob Marley and a must-have for any music collection.

Redemption song version is different from original album.
A must for any music collector but... Was hoping to get the 3 color vinyl. I got the black one instead. Not a big deal but it would have been cool. The center hole was a bit tight but loosens up after a couple of plays. That’s nothing new I remember back in the day I would come across a vinyl with the center punch a bit tight. I think it is better to have a vinyl with a tight center punch than a loose one that could probably cause your vinyl to skip. The audio quality of the tracks do sound beautiful but I have to admit I do hear the crackle $ pop on at least two tracks loudly. I don’t know if maybe cleaning the vinyl would reduce it. I would have to try it. My biggest grip with this vinyl is that one of the best tracks of this album “redemption song” is not the same version as the original. Bob Marly singing this song solo with his guitar. It sounds so powerful & so beautiful. Why would you change that. Still one of my favorite vinyls. I have the original version on mo3 & CD but it would be nice to listen to it on vinyl. Update. The static noise has reduced dramatically with use. Sound quality is amazing. I have not bin able to clean the vinyl. I just recently ordered a cleaning kit. *******Update I ordered a 2nd copy. This one is the tri-color dual disco. This one has the original version of “redemption song”. This is what a Bob Marley Legend LP should be. A very beautiful album. The tri-color/ dual disc is not only cool to look at. It sounds 10x better. Worth the money. I guve this version a 10 star.

Bit of crackling although it is brand new sealed record. Standard in everything. Not 180 g print. Sound feels flat and lacks details . Disappointing
