Q: Is this one for 24.95 the "deluxe version"? Description says deluxe version includes cutter & hammer, but then product description does not say "deluxe".

on the website the "deluxe version" has a longer handle and is $10.00 more, what is strange is that the website doesn't mention anything about the cutter and hammer (or the commercial)

Q: Can anyone comment on how stable this device is? I am looking for my 81 year old mom who just had a hip replacement... need something she can lean on!

My husband just got this for my birthday because his Volvo is low to the ground and even though I'm not handicapped I am 74 and have a little trouble with a knee. This is sturdy and really helps getting out of the car. He's getting another for the other car. Well made. Love the built in flashlight. I hope we never have to use the window breaker or seat belt cutter, but it's there if we need it. Would also make a pretty hurtful self defense tool if anyone tries to get into the car.

Q: Can the handle be placed forward vs sideways? Concern of hitting "hip". 100% wheelchair bound. TY

Most likely not. I have a 2003 Toyota Camry and a 2000 Pontiac Montana minivan and on both it only fits facing the front of the car. It may work facing outward but only if the door latch loop is large enough. The problem is that if you try to use it facing outward the loop on the door jamb is too narrow for the handle to fit properly and it is not secure since it cannot go all the way down.
