Health Care Information Systems: A Practical Approach for Health Care Management

I have worked with the federal agencies in both health care and IT and I am blown away on how comprehensive and clearly presented this content is. In my Masters Health program, this is the best course in the whole program because of the high relevance and the great content found in this book. It is absolutely wonderful.Each week, as I go through these chapters, I learn something new that I thought I knew but didn't. IT and Health is are both quickly evolving spaces and very tough space to stay current. And, with the new Trump administration, we will yet again see more change forthcoming. This is definitely your "go to" reference book. If there was one book on my shelf on IT and HC, this would be it.

This is a great book especially for beginners. Even those who are "seasoned" may pick up some new information. I will say, with the way technology and healthcare are changing so quickly these days, don't take too long too read it or it may become quickly outdated. Keep fresh and get the new versions as they come out.

I really enjoyed reading this textbook as well as learning more from this book. Well especially while trying to complete my Bachelor's degree and earning an "A" for the whole Semester!! YAY, now I'm completely done and get to finally Graduate. :-),, ;-)

I give the text content 4 stars. It was required reading for an online college course and was informative for the purpose. I especially liked the Case Studies - they really helped to bring the information together.The major problem I had is that there are no page numbers, only location numbers at the bottom of the page. This makes it very difficult to find a topic or use the index to look up a concept.

This is an informative and well organized book that helped me tremendously in preparing for the Clinical Informatics board exam. The book covers all the bases at just the right depth. The writing style is clear and concise. I highly recommended it!Tom Scaletta MDPresident, Smart-ER.net

great book, and in fact love that it is smaller in size for taking it places conveniently! used if for class and was happy about the learning experience

Never really used it for class because reading is tough and this book is verbally tough for my brain. Recommend renting if required rather than buying because you will never use it again

I use this book in an introductory health informatics course. Covers exactly what I needed, including HITECH. The activities at the end if each chapter as well as the short cases at the end are very useful for discussion.
