Very convenient. Worked great on 2500 mile round trip.
We have only used it to cool and it keeps everything nice and cold while traveling. We used to put ice into ziplock bags and use a small ice chest. Then at night we had to transfer the food to the hotel frig and get more ice the next day. Now we can leave it in this ice chest. Of course you have to plug it in over night, but that's ok. We took it to Florida and back - awesome.

Handy dandy!
I've used this once traveling short distance and it keeps things cold well. Today I'm going to run the DC power off my jump box to experiment how much juice it needs to run. That way when I travel long distance and nap in my journey, it'll be plugged into the jump box when my vehicle isn't running. And I can charge my jump box back up when I restart my vehicle and this can be plugged into the lighter outlet in my vehicle again. Handy dandy for this single woman! Thank you. Oh, fantastic price as well!

DONT DO IT!!!
This was the worst purchase ever. Filled it half way with ice and all the ice was melted within 8 hours. I ofcourse decided to return it. They made me pay for postage to send it back. The postage to send it back was $101.00!!!!!! More than i paid for the cooler. My wife dropped it off. I would not have paid that. So now i am out $101.00 DOLLARS with nothing but a bad experience to show for it!!! If you decide to go this rout i wish you have better luck than i had. Will never order from them again!!!!!!!!!

Electric refrigerator.
The one I got dose leak cold water from the fan on to items. But it does keep things very cool.
