Almost like Lakeshore's product but much cheaper
A few weeks ago I bought Lakeshore's Classroom Magnetic Letters Kit for about $32 with a 20% discount. Their product includes lower case letters only. This one has both upper case and lower case, a sturdy compartimentalized container for storage and stickers so the child or children can help keep the letters organized. This one also includes a small magnetic board to stick the letters to. I got it b/c the price was so inexpensive. When I saw how well made it was, I immediately bought another one to save for my my 4 year old grandson's little sister, when she's ready to read. The reason I like both Lakeshore & this set is all the consonants are blue and the vowels are red. Knowing that a word must contain at least one vowel is an important piece of knowledge youngsters need to know when they start putting random letters together and ask you "WHAT DOES THIS SAY?" - a big step for little ones, realizing that one can write or form words with letters.

Impressive set to help kids with letters and spelling
I was hesitant to buy this because there were no reviews, but I liked that the letters were more "true to form" than some other similar products. It's hard teaching kids letters when they look so different based on fonts. This one seemed like most letters were closest to what we've been practicing. I'm so happy with this! -The packaging was impressive. -The letters seem sturdy enough to withstand my two kids using them. -Vowels are all red, which is nice to have them stand out a bit. -The eraser works very well, and the board looks like new after erasing (some dry erase surfaces seem to leave marker lines even after being erased) -There are plenty of each letter to make lots of words and practice lots of letter writing/recognition -The box it comes in is sturdy and has each section labeled with which letter goes in it so my son knows where to put the letters when he is done. The only con is that these labels seem like they could come off easily. A little tape can fix that, though :) This is a great product and I'm very happy I went for it :) highly recommend.

Quality set for spelling practice
I bought this for my second grader to practice spelling. I looked at many products and was considering foam sets (similar to this one) or a Montessori inspired wooden movable alphabet set. Compared to the movable alphabet I was looking at, I liked that these foam sets were self contained, magnetic, and came with a magnet/dry erase board and markers, and had upper and lower case letters. I was concerned that some of the sets had some serif letters and some sans serif letters. I was also concerned that the letters would have a strong off gassing smell. In the end, I found this set, which uses very standard, clear, sans serif letters and are made without known harmful chemicals. Still not as earth/people friendly as a wooden set, but this set does appear to be well made and something that can be passed on once we're done with it. So far, my child really likes it and is excited to use it. No strong chemical smells and all the letters appear to be present - overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase!

Great with direct supervision
Dislikes: watch children closely little nails will destroy the letters, question marks, and exclamations marks quickly. I wish they had period and comma/ apostasy also to help kids understand punctuation hands on. Likes: great for kids who learn hands on. The case is amazing and white board is durable. Mine was missing one capital P but beside that it's amazing for the price. There will be 3 kids 3-6 years old that will be using it with great supervision individually.

Fantastic tool
He's a great for aiding learning at home. I love that they come with a whiteboard that you can write the words down and they can match the letters. There are multiple items of the same letter both upper and lower case and this is fantastic for matching, upper and lowercase as well as writing words for children who don't have the grip strength to write consistently. This is a fantastic way to teach alphabet, reading, and words. My 3-year-old absolutely loves them and we often use them. The magnetic use of the letters means that we can use them for many other things as well. Would definitely recommend these. I didn't for a full price as I got them as a used item off of Amazon warehouse. However, I definitely think that I still would have purchased them and thought them quality for the money had I paid for price.

Nicest set I could find for the price.
I like the shape of the letters. The lower case "q" has a curved tail instead of a diagonal flag like I was taught decades ago but it does have a a tail and does not look like a backwards p. The upper case P and the lower case p are almost indistinguishable. They are the same size but the uppercase P has a smooth top edge where the stick and ball attach. The lower case p has a slight stick that extends above where the ball attaches. You have to look very closely to tell them apart. Comes with the labels for each compartment that you must apply yourself. Not a big deal when ever I get around to it. Not sure how well they will last with rough manhandling/abuse from young boys but another purchaser said they do a good job of bouncing back into shape after being folded. I have no idea how "sheerness" is different from the "thickness" categories....so gave them the same rating.

Excelente, todo nos encantó, la cajita para ordenar cada letra, la separación por colores de vocales y consonantes hacen muy sencillo el aprendizaje. Lo recomiendo para iniciar la lectoescritura.

Product itself is very good. The case is good. However, it was missing 1 uppercase "I" when it arrived.
