We have a small farm in Hawaii and wild chickens leave us eggs all the time. My wife was looking for a way to store them better than the refrigerator and she came across something on a "prepper" website. You get a very big glass storage jar. You fill it with eggs and then mix up some of this pickling lime to fill the jar. They say it keeps the egg usable for a year, with no change in taste, quality, or spoilage. Seems easy enough to use and the wife has already made up two gallon jars of eggs. We are going to try them in six months and then a year. I will try to remember to update this review with the results. We had trouble finding it locally and when we did it was very expensive. These were at a good price.

Very good for making nixtimal, aka properly processed corn that the body can digest. The only complaint are the packages it comes in. I'd rather it come in a box, as working with the bag is hard to work with, due to the way it's designed, and it makes a mess. A box would solve that problem. The narrow opening at the top doesn't help, either. Also, only other complaint, the largest individual packages I could find were 1 pound. They need to provide larger, bulk packages, at the minimum 10 pounds, preferably 15 pounds. I know you can also use this to waterglass eggs, and I've met people using this very brand to do so, and according to them, it works like a charm. I haven't done that myself, though. I've only used it to make nixtimal.

I used this to make pumpkin jam, and old Iranian recipe that makes the pumpkin pieces crunchy and soft inside. Worked like a charm. 1 cup of lime to be mixed with 10 cups of water.

I purchased this lime to water glass fresh eggs. The directions on the back were clear for making pickles and explaining the lime. I already had the recipe for the eggs. The quality of this lime inside the bag was great. However, I won't know how well it worked until I open the eggs months later. I appreciate that the bag is really for storage as well and it was very easy to use and dissolved fast in the water.

Canning is loads of fun when you have the right ingredients. This pickle crisp is my favorite for storing and canning pickles . I love the crunch, no soggy pickles anymore! Worth it. will buy again.

Received in good condition. Used for water bathing eggs. So far, so good.

bought it for my REEF tank uses it for a little while it works but i am to lazzy to check my saltwater quality so i rather just change water every other week
