K&H Pet Products Feather-Top Ortho Pet Bed Medium Charcoal/Gray 30" x 40"

This is the dog bed to buy and forget about all the rest. I have bought 4 of these beds. My first dog was huge and I wanted one to give him good support during his lifetime. I researched every bed I could find on the internet and it all came back to this one. Once Ozzy got on it he was in heaven and loved it so much during his life. The cover comes off and wash’s real nice. I wanted the best for my daughters dog and my sons dog, so I gave each of them one. We ended up getting another dog and we got this same bed again in a smaller puppy size, but have now had to get her a large one. I bought this many because they are the best.

Edit Sept 2021: It is still a winner. It is THE BEST BED we have ever owned. My poor doggie with his arthritis. Now keep in mind that I have it sitting on ANOTHER memory foam dog bed that was way too firm for him, so that may be improving it by acting as additional cushioning. But the two of them together are winners.Original: Well, the prince. My dog has arthritis really badly at 11 years old, and I've bought three beds in the last year trying to get him comfortable. I know when he's not, because he gets up and rearranges himself all night long, and it wakes me up. Now he can stretch out and it is the perfect amount of firmness with cushy. The feather bed top is what does it: it is cushy, but then it sits on a memory foam base that is firm. I had previously gotten a memory foam like the base of this one, and it was TOO firm for him. Then I got a cushy one like the feather top, and it was TOO cushy and he sunk into it. So the two of them together are perfect. And I hate when the beds sink in the middle and lose their padding, and so far that hasn't happened (it's been a couple of months). I also have it sitting ON TOP of that other memory foam that was too firm, so it acts like a box spring for this bed, I don't know if that helps this bed work at all. My dog has really bad arthritis so it takes a lot to help him be comfortable. So anyway highly recommend.

Fabulous orthopedic bed! Purchased for 14 year old rescue dog that has serious arthritis. During the night on other orthopedic beds (both egg crate and memory foam) she would be very restless. Sleeps like a baby on this bed! The other memory foam bed was much firmer without the feather top that this one has. Not sure if it was the firmness or perhaps that bed made her too hot. Haven't washed it yet and will update at that time. As someone else mentioned in their review it is a couple of inches smaller than the stated size.Update 5/17/17: Downgraded 1 star because the feather top portion cannot be removed for cleaning, should have a zipper opening. The "feathers" must be washed as well, . Dried on low heat as directed and seemed like it shrunk a bit, so if possible I would recommend line drying in the sun or use very low heat to get the feathers dry. If the feathers don't get dry - yuk! Also this is egg-crate foam that seems to be better quality than most, but it isn't a solid piece of memory foam.

Awesome bed for my 60 lb pit bull. We had a bed for her from Walmart before with memory foam but it quickly wore down and it was like laying on the floor with it. I wanted something big enough for her to stretch out on and thick enough that it might as well be like laying in an actual bed. I can tell this bed will last a long time and the material it’s made with is nice quality. Definitely got my money’s worth. I do think it’s over priced however but I was tired of buying bed after bed because they didn’t last long. I have yet to wash it so Im not sure how difficult that will be. I feel like I could have gone up a size though so that my shitzu mix could share the bed with her. Definitely only room for one dog this bed.

I really like this bed. Thick, sturdy pad. I laid on it & I didn't feel the ground. I replaced an old bed with this one in the same spot. My border collie didn't miss a beat. He laid on it immediately & has been sleeping on it. I consider that a successful purchase! The top pad does make a slight crinkly sound but not noticeable when the dog gets on and off. I noticed when I laid on it.I took 1 star off because of the sizing discrepancy. It was advertised as 50 x 40. However mine is actually 50 x 38. I read other reviews that mentioned the sizing was off but still proceeded to buy anyways. I am glad I did but heads up on actual size if you're measuring for a specific area.

This is the Cadillac of dog beds. It is a big pricey, true, but having had this for several years for an old, arthritic dog, I truly believe that the investment I made in the bed saved me in the long run vet expenses and expenses for treating his arthritis. The mattress part of the bed is like a "Tempurpedic-style" memory foam type of mattress, which is topped by soft feathers. It gives a lot of firm support with a plush area right at the top. It is elevated 6-7 inches off the ground. It's so comfortable I could sleep on it. I got the largest size although I have a medium size dog, but that is due to his preference. He could have gotten a size smaller. It has a washable cover with a zipper. My dog loves this bed and sleeps very soundly on it. He gets on and off it easily. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I bought this bed with a recommendation from a neighbor who has had this bed for her 100 lb lab and it is still in good shape after 3+ years. Easy to wash and keep clean and her dog loves it. I have had mine for about a month and it is great, good value too! Highly recommend.

Just got it for my 110 pound cane corso who has pressure sores from laying on a blanket on the floor, his body is very dense and heavy. I think the look of it is beautiful as far as orthopedic im feeling that its not and it needs more firmness in my opinion. but the hes much happier laying on this than the floor or blanket, and the size is amazing. Price point i feel is comparable to other items similar to it wish it was a little cheaper. I give it 5 stars due to looks and my dogs happiness while laying on it

This bed is huge ! I was in need of another dog bed for my lab and boxer . Purchased this one and both dogs love it . Dogs seem really comfortable when sleeping on it . Highly recommended.
