Bowers & Wilkins PX7 Over Ear Wireless Bluetooth Headphone, Adaptive Noise Cancelling - Silver

These headphones, oddly, don't get nearly as much coverage as the competition in their price point—particularly Bose and Sony seem to dominate the conversation. Maybe it's just a brand awareness thing. However, I found that there are quite a few reasons that put this pair on top (at least for me). Here's a breakdown:* Sound. These headphones are fantastic. Not too opinionated, not too much base—just right. I've been using them for a diverse amount of listening, and so far they've performed really well across the board.* Battery life. It's brilliant. Let me say that again: brilliant. And even better, when I do have to charge them, they charge super fast via USB-C. In the battery life area, this is hands down the best experience I've had.* Active noise cancellation. These headphones are definitely solid in this area, but I think I've tried other headphones where it's been slightly better at suppressing certain sounds. That said, I feel the few missteps I've noticed seem software-related, so they may very well be corrected via updates (I bought these early on in their product lifecycle). I do have one caveat: I personally don't like using "auto" ANC in headphones, so I can't vouch for whether it's good in that area or not—instead, I use the button to toggle the noise cancellation between off-low-high as appropriate, which has worked well for me.* Comfort. This pair is very good but maybe not quite as good as the Quiet Comforts. My highlights in this area are that they check my main two requirements: I'm able to use them for extended periods of time (hours) without feeling bothered by them, and I'm able to use them with my glasses on for a long time, which has been an issue with other headphones I've owned.* Connecting. This may not be something you need to to often, but when you do, these headphones make it easy-peasy. They can also connect to two devices simultaneously, which works really well in situations where I may be listening to something on my phone, then need to switch to my computer, and then back to my phone.* Controls. I have two words for you: actual buttons. In my experience, touch gestures with other headphones in this category are okay-ish, so I consider actual buttons in this case a win in my book.* App. I honestly haven't had to interact with the app much, if at all, so I don't have much to say in this area other than: the app seems fine, has worked well, and you'll eventually need it for software updates, which I haven't gotten any.* Design. Last in the list, perhaps because it's the most subjective. Design wasn't a big factor in me getting these headphones, but personally I felt these headphones look and feel more distinct and premium than the competition at this price point—again, totally based on personal preference. Oh, I got the silver ones.

These PX7's are fantastic! There really is no weakness to them. The sound quality, which is foremost to me, is simply fantastic. I am not a high-tech audiophile, but probably like many others here, I just really enjoy listening to music and want it to sound consistently great. What that consists of will of course mean different things for different people depending on their preferences. But for me it means the sound is precise and spacious and lively. I'm not sure what that means technically, but I know how it sounds. So to find a pair of headphones that fits the bill means a lot of time testing them out. I ended up testing at length the B&W PX7, Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless, Bose NC700, Bose QC 35II, and Sony wh-1000xm3. Sound quality immediately eliminated both Bose models and the Sony's. After extensive listening to the PX7's and M3's both the Bose and Sony's sounded noticeably flat and muddled and dull. I'd hear the music, but there was no life or energy to it. Even as I cranked up the volume it didn't move me at all, which was the complete opposite experience I had with the PX7's and M3's.With the Bose and Sony's ruled out the competition was between the PX7's and M3's. Sound quality in both was fantastic. Both completely fit my musical taste and I would have been completely happy with either set. But when I factored in everything else I landed firmly on the PX7's. Both were extremely comfortable in their own way. The PX7's felt solid, sturdy and secure, while also fitting my head/ears beautifully. The M3's were plush and cozy. The problem though is I don't care for the design with the metal sliders. They feel too cold and sharp, not like something you'd want to lay down on the couch with. Worse off, they don't hold their form well either. Every time I put them on I had to readjust the positioning of the cans as they'd slide on the arms too easily, whereas the cans on the PX7's are tight and never slide. The other things that favor the PX7's are that they have a much better battery life, much better ANC, a hard case, better feeling and more distinguishable buttons (seem crisper and better built), better transparency mode (though there is a 1-2 second delay to activate it and it doesn't allow you to raise volume of music while activated. Nevertheless it still works great!), and portability. Both have good and useful apps, though with the recent firmware update to the PX7 I'd give it the edge. The one nod that perhaps goes to the M3's is on call quality, but it is only marginally better.In summary the PX7's are five star all the way. For as much as I scrutinized them, looking for weaknesses, I couldn't find any whatsoever, but they do everything I want them to, and do it really well.Update: the recent firmware update now allows you to change the volume during ambient listening mode. And even better quality to these already almost perfect pair of headphones!

La comodidad es buena. En lo personal no me gusta la sensación de la cancelación de sonido (de cualquier audífonos). La calidad de sonido es simplemente astral, excelente. Calidad de materiales bastante premium y un diseño bastante atractivo.

The best sound quality on this Headphone segment. Noice cancellation is superb. The design and materials of the PX7 is on another level.

I bought the PX for my other half and I thought they were good. The Px7 is another level. Another level of control - easier to control, voice feedback of settings, great app control. It is also supposed to have greater battery life and certainly has more bass than the PX.I can't talk about longevity but I am a bit of an audiophile and have other B&W products and they have served me very well over the years. Headphones give you a completely different perspective and often the over ear variety don't afford you the range that these do. The clarity is excellent. The static over BT at times is present but the slightest input clears it.The noise cancelling is also brilliant. Effective and easily switched on an off (further adjustment via the app).The ear pads are soft, secure and not too hot. It's hard to fault these things!Charges in no time.I am slightly concerned they plastics will scratch but intend on being careful with them so don't expect this too much beyond normal wear and tear.
