This is a really good value for the price. I like that it comes with a mini spatula to dispense the balm. It melts right away into my face and removes all my sunscreen, mascara, and the rest of the makeup that I'm wearing.

After much resistance, I’m a total convert to the double cleanse. Using a cleansing balm, like G&S, removes my daily SPF and keeps the next step (regular cleanser) from overstripping my skin’s natural moisture barrier. My skin no longer feels dry & tight after double cleansing. Love the amount of product you get here for the price. One jar lasted me almost 3 months. No blurry eyes or breakouts or irritation after using it. Comparing it to more expensive cleansing balms I’ve tried, it doesn’t rinse off quite as well & no scent (I do enjoy a subtle luxurious fragrance to my skincare as part of the overall experience), but it works well as part of a double cleanse and is a great value. If you’re searching for an affordable effective cleansing balm, look no further.

This balm does a good job removing makeup (even waterproof mascara) with little effort. It melts into a nice balmy texture rapidly. It does not get milky when water is added and remains highly moisturized even after thorough rinsing. It is a good first cleanse and you could be done at that if you like your skin feeling moisturized. The 4 star rating is due to more of a preference, I don’t like the remaining feeling of having moisturized my face. But for those with very dry skin or who do like that feeling this would probably be amazing!

I was running out of my squalane cleanser from the Ordinary which is my go to for first cleanse, especially if I've worn makeup or layered a lot of SPF. But I'm also an esthetician and like trying new products. So I'm going to break down my thoughts on this product... 1) you get a lot of product for the price and you do NOT need a lot of this product. I'm anticipating this lasting at least two months or more. A little goes a long way! 2) it comes with a small cosmetic spatula to help you get the product out of the jar without risking contaminating the jar. 3) there is no scent which I love as I have very sensitive skin. 4) melts in the hands instantly! It breaks down my many layers of SPF, mascara and eyeliner and leaves none of it behind. 5) it leaves behind a thick, oily feeling. You absolutely MUST follow up with a second cleanse to get that greasy feeling gone. I would never be able to use this as a single cleanse, which is what I loved a lot about the squalane cleanser. It left the skin feeling clean AND hydrated. While this just leaves the skin feeling oily and a little gross. If I go in with my second cleanse, I don't seem to notice the heavy oil feel. I would just like to be able to use this on the days I don't wear makeup or a lot of sunscreen. Overall, it's a good deal for the price. The simple ingredients are a huge selling point. Effectiveness of removing makeup and layers of SPF is 5/5. However, I would not repurchase for the only reason listed above.

Works well for the price

I was skeptical about this product because there was no way it could remove make up and oils from my skin. However, after using it for little over two weeks, my skin is clear it takes off, make up so so well and a little bit goes a long way. It is literally like you are melting your day away when using this product and coming out with a clear.
