Absolutely fantastic quality. Im not breaking out from it. Very natural raw smell which is indicative of its natural raw nature. So pure that I even used it on my face. The smoky smell from this product is normal. The shea butter was fresh.

I love the Shea butter from Better Shea Butter and the customer service is outstanding. I recently made the most awesome sunscreen lotion bars with the Shea butter, And am thrilled with the results - these lotion bars came out firm, but soft and smooth and moisturizing to the skin. - I almost wish I could eat them! I rarely use sunscreen until I made my own because there is nothing I like on the market! I think the high quality of the shea butter was a big factor in the the success of this sunscreen recipe. These sunscreen bars are so pretty / they are in the shape if daisies and would make great gifts. The shea butter was a pleasure to work with; it has a pleasant smell, and has a nice consistency kind of like the Play Dough I used to play with as a kid- except the shea butter is more luxurious with a very nice snell.!. Better Shea butter is not gritty like some other brands. Thank goodness I found the Better Shea Butter company as I did not like any of the other brands I tried. I have to comment on the customer service , and I am very impressed. I had lots of questions and the shea butter lady always responded quickly by phone and email. I am so exited to make lip balm and body butter next . I just ordered the cocoa butter from Better Shea Butter and can't wait to use it - I think I will try a chocolate peppermint body butter recipe - I'll let you know how it turns out ! I just made a batch of vanilla bean body butter with the better Shea butter and I can't believe I made it! It is divine and luxurious and smells heavenly. I went for many years not using body lotion because I didn't like any of them on the market- now I can honestly say that I truly enjoy using this product; especially knowing that there are no harmful chemicals. In so excited that I found the Better Shea Butter company!

The shipping was fast and the shea butter arrived well-packaged and in fine condition. The shea butter is very good quality. I saw some reviews that "it stinks". I don't think it stinks and neither does my boyfriend. It has a nutty smell. You do have to get used to it but it's not unpleasant to me, however I suppose that can be a personal preference. I have found this shea butter heals the skin. I LOVE it as a facial moisturizer, because it doesn't clog my pores. Coconut oil always made me break out. And I've had skin that could easily break out with most moisturizers, including jojoba oil. Apparently shea butter is a ZERO on the comedogenic scale of 0 to 5 (coconut oil is a 4 which explains to me why it clogged my pores and broke me out every time I tried to use it). I was a bit wary to use it on my face, but I can now say after use for a couple of weeks that I had no breakout at all, and my skin is looking wonderful - I especially love using it as an eye cream. It really improves the skin around the eye area and doesn't irritate my eyes, unlike the many expensive eye creams I've used, which did jack s*** for my eye area. This makes my skin healthy. It heals cuts and wounds. It is great for hands, feet, everything, and ALL natural. I don't like the recipes to add it to coconut oil because for me, coconut oil just cheapens the wonderful rich shea quality. I mixed it with lavender essential oil and use it as my face and eye cream. Totally will buy this again. The free ebook comes as soon as you enter the confirmation code from your order, so it was prompt. While I didn't use all the recipes, it's nice to have some guides on how to mix it up. I will use it with many essential oils for various uses. Great product, great service. I do wish it was a little less expensive, but other than that, 5 stars! UPDATE JULY 30, 2015 I'm pregnant with our first baby (30 weeks - over 7 months) and used this as a pure moisturizer throughout, it has worked nicely, still never causes any breakouts either. I use it on my belly, and any areas where women get stretch marks, after every shower. So far, my skin is supple and never has itched (I hear many pregnant women get itchy skin on their bellies because the skin is stretching). I make sure to drink lots of water and use my shea butter on my skin, and have felt quite comfortable, so I like this a lot. I've already ordered a couple of times, and will certainly order again. Prior to purchasing this, I had only ever used the yellow shea butter by a different company. While waiting for this one to arrive I bought a tiny jar of the white butter at Whole Foods because I was completely out. While I like the other brand, I absolutely LOVE Better Shea Butter's brand; it is not whipped (the Whole Foods brand was) and was soft, pliable, easy to apply to my skin. Sometimes I get excited when I get a new product and tend to use too much, so I took it easier with this and it paid off. I only use a small amount for skin moisturization and it does moisturize superbly. I will admit to a rather complicated skin care routine as I am a product junkie, but here is what I do to keep my body smooth and soft: argan oil goes on my skin first thing after a shower, then shea butter, then Kiehl's body lotion. I have experimented with various butters and oils; coconut oil (too greasy and does not absorb well), avocado butter (good, but greasier than shea), cocoa butter (very greasy but does the job), sesame oil (terrible, does not absorb at all and leaves skin strangely dry beneath the oil), olive oil (will do in a pinch when I am out of argan oil). But shea butter is my all-time favorite because it has a bit of sun protection in it - my fair skin does not burn but turns a nice golden color. All that said, I didn't know what I was missing by using the yellow butter rather than the white! The texture is smoother and does not harden even in my air-conditioned house. It absorbs into the skin even better than the yellow and this brand better than the other white butter I bought (AAA brand). It is a massive amount that I am sure will take me through the summer. And even though temperatures here in the South are in the upper 80s right mow, this chunk-o-butter arrived only soft, not melted though it had been on a carrier vehicle all day. It would have even been okay with me if it were melted but nice that it wasn't. I had some pesky dry skin flaking off my legs (why is it that legs dry out more than arms even when less exposed to the elements? One of life's mysteries...). Even with exfoliation and my meticulous skin care routine the condition persisted. However, this shea butter has significantly reduced the problem with just two applications and I fully expect it to be "cured" with several more uses. This is real shea butter, folks - the best I've used. The price is actually a steal too. I can't comment on use for hair or face. My hair is too fine to withstand heavy oils and butters but I bet that someone with thicker or more coarse hair would benefit greatly from it. My skin is pretty oily right now so I can only see myself using it there in the wintertime when skin is drier. I am greatly impressed with this company's customer service. Isabella has been right on top of things with personal emails thanking me for my order and information on downloading recipes. That she has taken time to do this with each and every person who places an order speaks volumes about her business ethic. I had pored over the reviews for this shea butter as well as other brands and was satisfied that all the reviews were genuine. She also responded to the few negative reviews with grace. This is a company who believes in its product and cares about its customers, and I am happy to recommend this outstanding product.

It has a nice scent and texture. The quality of the ingredient is really good and I use it as a base for my homemade ointment for sensitive skin. This is a must have for my skin care crafts.

For the last couple of years I have only purchased my butters from this company, always a great experience and great quality. BUT for the first time, I received a butter (Shea) that smells awful. Not sure why now since I have purchased these many times before but it literally smells like cow manure. Unfortunately I put this in my melting pot without a thought to smell the butter beforehand and just popped it in as I always do with all my other ingredients (including the mango butter) and now the whole batch is ruined, $50 worth of product that literally stinks. I'm really bummed and couldn't return because I just tossed everything in, and then smelled it after I tossed it in. Always smell your butter, would hate for anyone else to experience this, I know I will from here on out.

So deliciously smooth and wonderful quality, it’s Iike a protective cloud layer on my skin especially great in the winter. My kids even like to warm it in their hands and use in their face and hair (2we have dreads and curls). Wonderful great quality thank you and a generous cube amount should last a year+

More to add for this wonderful product and company - Update December 2024 … There is no other Shea Butter on the market that is this good and pure. Read their story, from their onset in 2013 I was convinced Better Shea Butter was my choice for as long as I continue to make my own DIY skincare products. Best all around, I’m a customer for life. My skin texture and smooth appearance proves it. It has faded scars and other imperfections, as well as help in the healing process after a serious burn I had from our wood stove recently. Once the burn was no longer considered an open wound and had sealed itself with a new layer of skin, I applied this Shea Butter nightly to the scarred area and it has faded and continues to have the appearance of normal skin on my arm. Thank you Better Shea Butter for your support in giving the beautiful women in Africa an opportunity to produce a perfect Shea Butter for people throughout the world. Everything seems good with my current order of Better Shea Butter. I noted in a recent review the new block of Shea Butter was off color and had an unfamiliar texture. See their description and photos for this Shea Butter, they explain the variations and reason for it. After whipping together a recipe for a nighttime moisturizer, then applying to face and neck, the cream was consistent with my previous DIY skincare. The Shea Butter has the usual fragrance of a nutty aroma, it was the color and feel of it that concerned me initially. Bottom line is it seems to be good quality with a variation that is acceptable and giving good results as it has for me over the years. I wanted to get this review update posted to share my experience and comparison. Better Shea Buttter is a very good company with a long history of providing quality products.
