Starter Kit

I had some cable connectors that are impossible to find. Non standard and weird. I had not used any silicone molds before so purchased this 7oz kit. It’s two 3.5oz bottles so not a lot of fluid, but luckily my part was pretty small. My first attempt was successful if a bit under cured. I was able to do a two part mold by flipping over the mold and adding a second section. The two parts actually fuse together which allowed me to make a complete negative mold. They product came with warnings against using silicone mixing cups as they will fuse. Also against using anything with sulfur which will inhibit the curing process. Overall it was a cheap way to test out an idea. I would consider purchasing again for future projects.

Very good mold making kit. I had no problems with using this product. It's easy to use, just follow the directions. Make sure you give it a good stir. It does not set up fast so you have plenty of time to work. I poured Part A & B just like the video showed to ensure I was getting an accurate ratio mix. FYI- I ended up placing my molds in the oven on warm (175 F) for about 15 minutes to speed up the curing time after approximately 9 hours. I would check the molds in the oven in 5-7 minutes increments just as a safety precaution. My preference, you can do as you, please, but mine came out perfect. Please see the photo of my molds. I highly recommend this product and will continue to purchase based on my needs. I have no complaints whatsoever.

This product is easy to mix (at 1:1 radio), sets up firm but is still flexible allowing for easy demolding. I recommend it to anyone who does castings.

Very good, but has to be dusted before it clears up

This kit had just enough for me to fill the base of a keyboard. Not much was left over, but that’s what I wanted. It also dried clear, although slightly hazy, which is what I expected. I was hoping for some better light diffusion on my keyboard and possibly better sound. It doesn’t photograph well but the effect is there and I’ll use this stuff again if the need arises.

Although this product may be passable for making molds (opaque white, not clear as advertised), it doesn't work for pouring into already established silicone molds. The material fusing to the silicone mold wasn't an issue for me, because the material doesn't even cure and harden inside a silicone mold. I tried three times, the third time mixing for 6 minutes straight prior to pouring into my mold, and at best, only about 50% of the mixture solidified, the rest was still gel-like consistency. The first time I let set for 12 hours: fail, the second time 24 hours: fail, the third time 48 hours: fail. Again, maybe good for mold making, but do not buy if you are trying to make a silicone model from an already made silicone mold, it won't ever solidify.

Super easy to use and dried very nicely. I used a scale to make sure I accurately measured the two liquids and then allowed it to dry for the suggested amount of time. Worked great, and a great amount of product for my needs. No bubbles, very soft and flexible when dry.

OK, so I bought this because it was the cheapest one out there that came in clear. Props, it came a whole day early than the original arrival date. There were no real directions but I read in the comments that it was a one to one ratio. I planed on using it all at once so it was not a big deal. Turned out that the mold I made was too big and I ended up not having enough, so I ordered a second set. It came a whole day early again! So I technically got both shipments within the same week. I was able to mix up and pour into the mold on top of the preexisting silicone (which had cured nicely) and it cured as one big piece. I have since used the mold almost 20 times and it is holing up well. The clearness had turned white with use in the area that was curing resin in, but that is ok. I just needed the clearness so I could cut the mold in the correct places when I was getting the original pieces out. The mold has high detail and almost no bubbles in the final product (mind you this was the first time I was making a mold so the bubbles are more likely my fault). I cannot recommend this enough and I plan to buy more (soon hopefully). I cannot say anything for the shelf life as I did not have any leftovers. However, the bottles have a nice plastic plug underneath a screw-on lid so it should do well for a while at least.
