Definitely Worth The Money, Make Sure You are OK with a Firm Mattress or a Topper!
Every now and then I come across a product on Amazon that seems too good to be true. Considering I have bought mattresses alone that cost the price of this auto-frame and mattress combo, this is one of those products! So I figured I would write a detailed review of my experiences receiving, unboxing, installing, and sleeping on this bed. As well as overall quality.BASIC INFOWe bought the split king model, which comes as two singles. The frames do come with latches to link them together so they wont slide away from each other.RECEIVINGAs mentioned in other reviews, the split king comes in 4 boxes. Two for the frames, two for the mattresses. These are HEAVY and you will have a lot of cardboard and packaging to dispose of after install. Curse of the Amazon generation I guess.UNBOXINGBe very careful unboxing the frames. They come folded in half, with two hinges down the middle. You really need to lie them flat, in the area you plan on installing, then cut the box totally open and fold them out so they are facing up. If you turn them on their side, a lot of stuff will fall out! In our case, two of the pins, one on the fold, and one holding in a motor, both fell out. They also have these little teeny metal clips to lock the pins in that went flying. We had to look all over for them. Once I found everything, luckily I was able to put the pins back in with a rubber mallet. We learned on the first bed and did what I recommend for the second bed frame and everything was fine. For the mattress, they come rolled up in vaccum sealed plastic, like any mail-order mattress. You want to keep them sealed till the frames are built, put them on the frames, then cut the carefully plastic, with scissors, not a knife so they can start inflating in place. They get heavy and big fast, so trust me, put them on the frame first!FRAME SETUPAs mentioned, they're pretty heavy. Start with one single first, lying on its back. Assuming everything worked properly upon unboxing, all you have to do is put two little metal latches on and screw in the legs. There are six legs in total. there is also a metal U-shaped bar that clips in to the foot of the bed, once you flip it over, to keep the mattress in place. A nice feature. Now here is a pro tip: if you get the split king, you will also get this thin metal bar that is meant to latch both beds together, via screwing in under the legs. I recommend opening the second box, fishing the second metal bar out, and attaching both metal bars to the first frame, under the front and back legs that will be adjacent to the second frame. If you wait until the bed is flipped over to attach these, you'll be crawling under your bed longer and it's a lot harder. Still very easy install.Once you have the first frame set up, flip it over. One thing to note, there is an orange zip tie at the "head of the bed" it helps you figure out which side is up. It's also holding the tilt mechanism in place for the head. Do not clip this zip tie until you flip the frame over. I found that once the frame is flipped over, the bed moves a lot easier. The legs are very sturdy and the unit feels solid. Now rinse and repeat for the second frame. The trick here is DON'T screw in the front and back adjacent legs yet! Put in four of the legs, 3 on one side and one in the middle adjacent, flip it over and butt it up against the metal brackets sticking out of your other frame. Now you do have to crawl under the bed to screw in the last two legs, through the brackets, but you can push up on the frame a little from underneath to get purchase, it's not too bad. There is also some play in the brackets so you can make sure the frames are lined up perfectly before doing that final tighten. While you are under there, don't forget to clip those orange zip ties! If you don't you could damage your motor when you try and raise the top!it would be a very bad idea to assemble both frames upside down, bracketed together, and try and flip the whole king sized thing over. Don't do that. You will bend or break those brackets! The last step is to install those U-shaped mattress holders at the base in, which just clip on and plug the beds in. Each one will have its own plug. The instructions tell you to attach a bunch of plugs under the frame, but ours came pre-assembled, which was nice.REMOTE SETUPThis is for the split king only. And I recommend doing this before you open the mattresses up, simply so it's easier to plug and unplug your beds. But you can do it after mattress set up if you want to start them airing out.Out of the bag, both remotes will operate both bed sides. Which is exactly what you don't want! There is a page in the manual that explains in detail what to do. but in short, don't panic. Much like a garage door opener, you pop the battery case and flip some DIP switches. Unplug one bed, hold down two buttons for a few seconds, and program each remote to a bed side. It's easy.MATTRESS SETUPLike I said above, stick em on the frame, cut the plastic carefully, and roll em out. These puppies are THICK.QUALITY REVIEW FRAMEAside from the pins that popped out, the base frames feel very solid. The motors are really quiet and you can barely hear anything moving up and down. Ours pretty much looks black, there's a nice amount of space underneath, and with the mattress on top, the height feels really good. A- here (only because of the pins that popped out)QUALITY REVIEW REMOTESSomeone else mentioned that the remotes feel cheap. I don't agree, they feel pretty sturdy to me. Better than most stock remotes that come with TVs. If I have one small gripe its that the buttons only light up after you press one. it would be nice is there was a motion sensor built in and they turned on as you brought the remote up to your face. Mainly because you will be adjusting this thing at night. But this is a super MINOR gripe. The remotes themselves work great. You can adjust the legs and back alone, or together. Also there is a hot key to flatten the thing. There are two other buttons, zero G and gaming/TV that have preset heights. One thing to note is these are actually PROGRAMMABLE, so if you have two settings you like, you can SAVE THEM. This is really cool.Overall: AMATTRESS QUALITY REVIEWThis is always so subjective. From a pure build these are straightforward, very thick memory foam. The outer casing is nice and plush. Lots of company name branding, which I found funny, but hey, you're never gonna see it. There is a giant zipper across the whole thing. So if for some reason you needed to wash a stain, you could. But, I dunno, I'd be wary of getting that foam back in there easily! One thing to note is there is a clear top and bottom. There is a more grippy material on the bottom, which is good for the frame. Also with that bracket at the bottom, these won't slip for sure! But it means you can't flip the mattress, you can only rotate it head to toe.Our mattresses expanded to full height almost instantly, then proceeded to get harder as the day went on. We probably only let them sit for 12 hours till we slept on them. I have a feeling ours are fully expanded, but I can't say for sure that their hardness won't change in the next day or two. Still, both are perfectly even height and look nice.In terms of firmness. This is where things are subjective. I have a bad back, I tend to sleep on my back and both sides (more on that later!). I actually found these to be... maybe a little TOO firm for me even. I can guarantee if you like a soft mattress you wont like these. However, having gone down this road before. I always prefer a mail order mattress to err on the side of too firm, because it is easy to add a 1-2" gel foam topper and get things softer. It's much harder to get a soft mattress to feel more firm! So I will probably add a slight topper to mine. An advantage with the split king is that my wife and I can get separate single toppers each to our own liking! In terms of snuggle time. Yeah, there is a line down the middle of the bed, but it's not that obtrusive, actually!Overall: B+ - I wish the mattress was a little softer, but not a deal breakerSIDE SLEEPERSJust something to think about. If you sleep on your side, or I guess your stomach, you're likely not gonna want the back lifted up that much! So, in general, an adjustable bed like this might not be for you. For me it's very helpful for my back and breathing issues at night, however!CONCLUSIONFor the money, you really feel like you're getting a great deal. there's no vibrating massage mechanism or other fancy features. But I find a lot of that stuff to be useless and the prices on those frames are waaaay over priced. Install will be a bit... heavy... def a two person job. And you're gonna be able to construct a third room out of cardboard when you are done, lol. But I think if you want an adjustable frame and mattresses, you will be very happy. The mattress firmness is the only really thing to watch for. If you really, really just can't deal with a more firm mattress. Then this might not be for you. Though can always go out and get alternate single foam mattresses (yes they have to be foam ) for the frame... and it's probably still cheaper than some rival frames alone. My wife has this 2" gel foam topper we got ages ago. If you like things softer, I would recommend something like this, for sure! One thing to keep in mind is you need to get single sheets or split king sheets for the base. I found some sets on amazon for like 40 bucks that are very comfy.Another bonus. I play PS4 in my bedroom. Lifted all the way up, the back of this thing goes up as high as a couch. So now I have a nice almost-sitting experience when playing games! I'd imagine this will also be great if I ever have sinus issues or a cold in the future. It's always a thing to try and stuff 15 pillows under my back to "sit up" and try and breath.Anyway, overall I give this thing a solid "A" It would be an "A-" due to mattress firmness... were it not for the price point, which is exceptional.Happy bed hunting!

This bed is awesome!
I bought the Kyvno split king and honestly it's great. I had a 14" Lucid memory foam bed before. It was real comfy except I toss and turn alot at night and my girlfriend couldn't sleep with me flopping around like A fish. So I got the split king. Here's my review on it...Price- best I could find. $500 to $2000 less than other beds with 4 to 5 star reviews.Quality- It's solid, smooth and quiet. Everything looks and feels like top of the line. Even the wireless remote controls are nice.Comfort- I'd say the firmness is a 7 out of 10. If you like sinking into a deep cloud of feathers then you'll want to add a topper or maybe not buy it. If your a big or heavy person then I can relate. I'm 6'6, 330lbs so all beds sag when I sit on them but this one seems to not sink in very much. I like the support it gives while still being nice and squishy soft. I can also see how this bed would be a game changer for the elderly, sick or people with bad backs.Shipping- It said 10 days to deliver. It showed up 5 days early. It comes in 4 big heavy boxes and you'll have alot of cardboard to get rid of when your done. If your going to build your bed upstairs you'll need someone to help get those boxes up there unless your built like the Hulk. The rest can be done with 1 person.Versatility- So, the split king is basically 2 independent xl twin beds that you connect together to make a king. Yes there's a gap between them but it's not bad and the mattresses are the same height so it blends together pretty good. They come with 1 remote controlling both the beds in unison but each has a remote and it's easy to make them operate separately. You don't have to connect them if you want to do the I love Lucy thing and have the beds spread apart. You can even put them in divorce mode and have each bed in a separate rooms but theyre meant to connect to make a king.Installation- no tools needed! Unbox the frames, lay them upside down where you want the bed. Screw on the legs and brackets and clip off all zip ties. Flip one frame over at a time to upright. Butt the frames together and finish connecting the 2 brackets. Plug in the beds. Unbox the mattresses, place on the frames and let them expand. I slept on mine after 3 hours and it was fine. Took about 24 hours to fully fill out. If you get confused as to which end is what when building it then note the orange zip tie on the frame is the head of the bed.In the end- really happy I bought it. Give it a couple of days for everything to fluff up and settle in before you judge it. You'll probably like it as much as I do. Don't forget to buy split king or twin sheets for your new bed - hope this helps
