One of the larger alum blocks out there and because it comes from the UK it's more expensive (one star off for being overpriced). However, I do like it and would buy it again and yes, I will recommend it. Feels great on the skin after shaving and not as uncomfortable as a styptic pencil if you got overly aggressive with a new blade.

Definitely worth the money. As I stated in another review, there are cheaper blocks of alum out there (ie Gentleman Jons) but you get what you pay for. While the cheaper one disintegrated after not even a months use, this one lasted well over 8 months. The only reason it didn't last longer was because I dropped it on the tile floor (Doh!!) and it shattered! But all blocks of alum shatter when dropped so no surprise there.Would definitely recommend this or the Art of Shaving Block of Alum, both around $20.

This is the third brand of alum that I have tried over the years. I like the larger size as it is less likely to slip out of my hands like some other smaller blocks like Osma. I am hoping that it is a solid block as the last brand I tried was Razorock and I was dismayed to find that while the outer 1/4" or so was solid, the interior was a mass of crystals that weren't so nice on my face.

It works as advertised. It is an astringent and acts like an aftershave in block form. The plastic little block that it is stored in was broken when delivered. Be aware that this block is the exact same mineral salt as Crystal Stick Deodorant, which is less expensive and readily available at most larger stores.

Well if you buy this for shaving, your gonna get a pleasant surprise. It is a great aftershave option, but the secret is that it gets rid of acne. No joke since it an astringent, I used it on my back. My acne was gone in a week. Forget all these fancy expensive treatments. The powers that be don't want you to know that simple natural 20 dollar bar of alum cures you. So amazing product and amazing effects.

Once you've started using an alum block you will wonder how you lived w/o one previously. It is an amazing aftershave soother and face toner that has to be tried to be believed. Of course Geo Trumper is a highly respected brand so you know this block is quality. A must have if you are a Badger and Blade man!
