The Adventure Zone: Petals to the Metal: 3

Another Hit
The Adventure Zone: Petals to the Metal is the latest and greatest instalment in the graphic novel adaptation of the superb podcast The Adventure Zone. Our heroes Merle, Taako and Magnus are thrust into the cutthroat world of battlewagon racing in order to retrieve another mysterious artifact. There's action, comedy, love and even an inspiring speech that gave me goosebumps.Podcast fans willbe delighted to see some of their favourite characters for the first time includingCaptain Captain Bane and Garyl the spectral binicorn and once again Carey Pietsch does an amazing job bringing these characters to life. The artwork is superb throughout and well worth the price of admission on its own.The whole thing is fantastic but the Hurley and Sloane arc was presented better here than even in the podcast and really made the heart of everything TAZ shine through.Bonus points for again including a section at the back of the book to showcase some of the amazing fan art developed by the TAZ community. There really are some wickedly talented folks out there.

Fantastic
Another fantastic outing for the franchise. Fans of the original podcast and those who have read the previous books will find this new book hilarious, while also slowly revealing more of this world's secrets.Anyone who is fond of the McElroys or just fancies a fun twist on the fantasy genre will adore this book. I highly recommend it.

Love me my Druid gals being pals
Loved the changes in this feels needed for both those that haven’t listened to adventure zone and for queer fans. Such a good adaptation and I can’t wait till all of TAZ Balance has been adapted so I can binge it through.

Another great addition to the series
Adapted from the popular podcast The Adventure Zone Petals to the Metal follows Merle, Takko, and Magnus as they search for the third Grand Relic and try not to cause too much destruction in the process. This is the first of the trio where I have noticed how much editing there is between the podcast and the graphic novel. I'm not telling you this as a negative but as a fact. Petals to the Metal is definitely a more streamlined version of the story. If you hadn't listened to the podcast you wouldn't know that anything is missing, and the way it is handled is almost like you're part of an inside joke. This wasn't my favourite storyline in the podcast, but it did translate really well into a graphic novel. I feel as though I enjoyed it more this time around than I did when I listened to it. As usual, the art is great and does an excellent job of illuminating the story. More than the previous two this one has a lot more action, and it was great to see how the artist was able to cover than in order to keep it fast-paced but not so much so that you couldn't follow it. I think there was also slightly more of Griffin in this book which I loved. So far I haven't been able to fault these books, and that stands true with this one.

Great book. Really late delivery.
Book is great. Fantastic art and possibly the funniest of the 3 books so far. The McElroys are hilarious and Carey has really upped the art again. My only gripe is that I preordered this early this year. Hoping to get it near or on the release date. Nope. I had to wait 6 weeks after release day for it to even be dispatched. What’s the point in preorders if you aren’t going to order enough copies for what you’ve sold. You’ve had 6 months notice and you still screwed up. I’ll buy elsewhere next time.

Awesome
This series is so so good, been listening to the podcast again and its so fun and funny. The graphic novels bring it to short form which is really nice to get the whole adventure quickly and beautifully drawn.

amazing comic but why greasy prints?
The comics is amazing and that i already knew but it arrived with the cover covered in greasy fingerprints and the back with what seems to be food stain??? i cleaned it and everything is ok now but that really seems very unhygienic, especially in a time when attention to health and safety should be at its highest???i have yet to read it properly and I hope it doesn't have any other stains inside or im returning it asap

Fantastic! Well Worth the Wait
Because of some issues on my end, I didn't get the book on the 14th. I got it this afternoon and just finished reading it.Absolutely gorgeous. Did a really good job condensing the original material without losing anything, with plenty of references for people who have listened to the podcast without expecting anyone to have listened to it. There's good foreshadowing for what is to come. Illustrations are absolutely amazing, and flow really well. The visuals match the story in a really good way.

A great adventure with amazing art
I really loved this graphic novel comic, The Adventure Zone is my favorite RPG-style story and the artist brings that world alive beautifully with her art. Its really worth it <3Even if Petals to the Metal wasnt my favorite arc originally, this comic made it amazing, enticing and eletrifying! Cant wait for the next!!!
