Great product and service from Equinox
Great product and service from Equinox. It feels solid, and is compact, making it easier to wield than the big plastic hose nozzles I have had before. Also, I appreciate its more workmen like look, over the usual ‘cheapest thing I could find’ look. The smooth trigger action and gentle spring make it easy to hold in the on position. Although there is a simple clip to lock it on anyway, the trigger action makes it feel like a good quality tool, rather than some creaking plastic that could break without warning at any moment. The flow pattern change ring is wide, and so rotates easily with a light grip. It has a nice positive click when it reaches a setting. Also, the setting names are clearly marked enough that I don’t need glasses to read them. When I first used it, I tried all the settings, one after the other, and it dribbled a little after switching. I found that by pointing it down while I switched settings, the excess from the prior pattern drained off and it behaved as expected when I switched the water back on. Now I use it in a normal way, i.e. I select a setting and just use that, or perhaps switch once or twice, and I find I don’t notice any dribbling.I find the large number of spay patterns useful. For example, the horizontal and vertical patterns are good for cleaning our muddy dog’s belly and legs, and the slightly finer than normal jet works well getting the mud from the grooves in the tread pattern under my boots. The mist pattern seems particularly fine compared to those I have had before. Overall the patterns seem slightly more precise than I am used to, leaving me with the notion the pattern ring is better made and/or designed than normal. Although I can’t verify that, obviously its preferable to have that feeling than the opposite. The flow control looks lacking in grip for wet hands, but in fact is smooth and easy to turn, and is brass too, so it should last. However, I would say that the flow control does not make as much difference as it should. I personally don’t mind this as I will probably never need to turn it down from maximum, but perhaps if you are watering something very delicate it might make a difference. I do feel as though on maximum it produces a slightly less powerful flow than my old hose nozzle, but I don’t have the old one to compare with, and in fact it does not affect me anyway. So, although it has a couple of minor issues, it is good enough for five stars in the way I intend to use it, on my dog, boots, and watering some pot plants and beds in the garden on the hot days I am, it seems, always waiting for.

A 1st Class piece of kit - for the first 18 months. Now in the Bin!
This is a really first class piece of kit for the garden. Well made, well designed, sturdy and practical and does exactly what it is supposed to do. I have used a number of other well known brands in the past that are made of plastic and they have always broken in one way or another after a very short time. This is made of metal and feels well made and built to last. It is excellent for watering all manner of plants in all situations (rockery plants, potted plants, hanging baskets, hanging gardens etc) without blasting all the soil away from the roots. Yes this is a little more expensive than the most popular brand, but I have no doubt it will last a lot longer.*** Product Review Update*** - I was wrong, it has not lasted at all. About 6 months ago, this product started to leak around the nozzle and it was less than 18 months old. It is now 23 months old and leaks so badly that I have had to throw it away as it is completely useless. It did not stand the test of time and has in no way been abused or used for anything other than watering plants. Would I buy another? Certainly not.

Without doubt the best I have used.
I purchased this after numerous failures from other brands (mostly the famous, predominantly yellow coloured brand) including some very expensive metal bodied units. Having given this its first try out today, it is absolutely fantastic! If you are a keen gardener, you NEED this spray gun!!From the moment you pick it up, it feels like a quality product - very nicely made, and seems to be robust. The ability to adjust the flow with the brass control is handy, however the real bonus is the trigger! Shaped perfectly to just fit in your hand, a gentle squeeze is all that is needed to operate the trigger - better still, it is very easy to regulate the flow to a massive degree, to ensure that you are watering what you want without drowning or damaging your plants. The pattern settings are all sensible and useful, and when allied to the trigger action, you can easily get the water flow you need, right down to the gentlest of streams.I have just watered a greenhouse full of seedlings, some of which are still at that very delicate stage, and was able to do so very quickly only using the 'Centre' setting and regulating the flow with the trigger.Seriously, do yourself a huge favour and buy one - you will love it! I live in hope that this manufacturer makes a sprinkler of similar quality.

Oh dear . . .
A substantial and versatile sprayer, well designed and comfortable to use. Clean clicks to each of the ten spray options, and a good flow-through with rate readily controlled by a brass dial that actually works: I've just given up with another brand's similarly designed sprayer because pliers were required to adjust the flow. I'm used to replacing sprayers every year because they fall apart. I suspect I'll fall apart before this sprayer does.Update 13 Dec. After 6 months this supposedly robust sprayer has failed internally resulting in water spraying out of the length of the body where metal joins rubber. Evidently no longer fit for purpose. Equinox have been informed and asked to resolve the issue. I trust they will do so without imposing delay or further inconvenience. I'll update again when the matter is concluded, and rate Equinox as a company.

Poor investment
My nozzle lasted less than a year. Canadian seller only has 30-day return policy. U.S. manufacturer doesn't sell in Canada, therefore won't ship a replacement directly to Canada. Lesson learned is to understand your seller's and manufacturer's return policies. I'm chalking this up to a bad investment.

Perfect for various watering situations
Strong metal construction with a grip catch is great for those who get sore hands from watering. There is a wide range of Spray patterns which, in combination with the flow control dial, enables appropriate watering for all watering needs including delicate plants up to jet spraying surfaces.

MAY JUST BE THE LAST GARDEN HOSE NOZZLE YOU WILL NEED TO BUY
04 May 2016This review is for the Gardenite Garden Hose Nozzle. After years of frustration with the poor quality and short life of nozzles purchased at big box home improvement stores, I decided to look for something better on-line. I found this excellent product at amazon.com and ordered two units, sight unseen. I relied on the positive reviews posted at amazon. Upon opening the package and grasping the nozzle I could immediately feel the high quality of it. It feels quite comfortable to hold and its ruggedness is very evident. The ring that selects the spray patterns turns smoothly and the names of the patterns are legible white lettering on a black background. As stated, the nozzle is mostly metal. The red baked enamel is a welcome change and makes it stand out when lying in a field of green grass.Other reviewers have praised this nozzle for its non-leaking water tightness. Indeed when I connected it to my garden hose, there was not a drop of water coming from the connection at the hose. This is saying something because with other inferior nozzles I’ve purchased, I’ve always had to replace the cheap looking black plastic washers with higher quality washers that I keep on hand. Not so with these nozzles—the supplied washers work just fine. The flow control setting knob (which is brass) doesn’t offer much range of flow, but that’s OK because the trigger also controls the flow rate. Squeezed all the way back it yields full water pressure, squeezing less gives a varying range, all the way down to a trickle. Some prospective buyers may balk at the relatively high price of $25, but the old rule “You Get What You Pay For” definitely applies here. Buy cheap and all you get is a piece of junk, most likely manufactured in China. These Gardenite nozzles are made in Taiwan (“Free China”). Can’t remember the last time I bought an item made there. All in all I love this nozzle and I highly recommend it to anyone needing a high quality, versatile garden hose nozzle. I may return to this review at the end of the season to report how well it holds up. This just may be the last nozzle I will need to buy for a long time.

Best Quality Nozzle I've Purchased
Great craftsmanship. Great customer service follow up. I've gone through countless garden nozzles over the years, with my last nozzle being a Gilmour Multi-Spray Pistol Grip Hose I purchases at Rural King. It lasted only 1 year! When I purchased it in Spring of 2015, I was looking for a metal nozzle that would last and offer multiple spray options. Beginning last fall, the nozzle began leaking around the spray nozzle selector. The leak began as a small mist but eventually increased to the point where more water was hitting me than the object I intended to spray. So, back to the drawing board I went this year. I had 3 criteria for my new nozzle search: 1)All metal construction 2) Made in USA 3) Product backed by excellent customer service. From all the information I found, this hose nozzle used to be made in the USA but is now made in China. :( What isn't anymore??? 80 percent of the nozzle is constructed of metal with rubber hand grip and rubber/plastic spray nozzle adjuster. It appeared that the company addressed the negative reviews regarding the construction of the plastic trigger handle with cheap alloy pin and in-fact, the company has addressed this issue. the nozzle I received has a steel trigger handle with a stainless steel pin. This nozzle has more spray pattern options than any other nozzle I've owned previously. With subtle differences between each spray pattern, I find all of them to be useful. I used the nozzle this past weekend to clean catfish and then to spray of the deck. I used all spray patterns and everything works great.Time will tell and if anything goes wrong, I'll be back to report it. Until then, I believe anyone who is looking for a quality garden hose nozzle will like this one.
