Swiss Army Rescue Tool Pocket Knife with Pouch, Fluorescent Yellow ,111mm

This is a great cutting tool with multiple rescue attachments that I've had for about 2 years at the time of this writing. I love the blade, most manufacturers put the serrations on the near side of the blade instead of the far side, exactly where they are impractical. When you are trying to do fine carving or whittling work you want a strait blade and you have most control on the near side of the blade so that's the last place you want the serrations. If you're cutting something difficult to cut, meat, bread, canvas, et cetera you want the serrations to exert maximum cutting force and, you guessed it, this happens at the end of the blade. This was the primary reason I purchased this Victorinox, it's the only honest blade out there anymore. If you're looking for a knife that is all function and not compromised for fashion this is it. The hardened flathead screw driver does indeed work well as a pry bar, it's a small piece of metal that you can exert considerable force with. The Philips head is a little harder to spin, so it looses some utility in that, but it works. The seatbelt cutter is pretty awesome, I haven't had the occasion to use it on a seatbelt but I've used it to cut leather so I'm sure it'll get the job done. I've seen the safety glass cutter work and while I have yet to use it myself the fact that it can cut Saftey glass is pretty impressive. The glass breaker most certainly works as does the punch. I've witnessed both being used on safety glass so I know they are functional. The handle is a little think for my hands, but it works, and I can open the main blade with one hand. It feels solidly constructed and all the blade locks aren't going anywhere once in place and all the tools on the ends have blade locks. One could argue that the locks are "too stiff" but better that then the locks failing or being accidentally triggered at the wrong time. The fluorescent yellow lets people know you mean business and this is a rescue tool, no one asks twice about it or why you keep it in reach within your car. I keep it in my vehicle at all times, and carry it occasionally though it is ill-suited to open carry with the holster provided (I'd prefer an optional clip). I'd also take this with me in the event of a Zombie apocalypse.

Very well made and designed tool that you hope you never have to use. The main blade is one hand opening, but the detent action is pretty stiff until you get the blade out about a quarter to a third of the way open. You have to be pretty deliberate with it. This is not a tactical knife, so that is okay. The same with the liner lock. You need to very deliberately close the knife. You aren’t going to be flicking this open and closed with one hand the way you might one of the tacticool knives. Just a note on sharpness here: SAK’s are generally pretty sharp out of the box, but the two blades provided here are beyond that. They are exceptionally sharp, by design, given what they are designed to be used for. As such I would advise taking extra caution, more than the caution needed with any knife, while handling this tool. They are that sharp. This is a specialized tool, not particularly suited to every day carry.. This would not be a good choice for camping or utility use. This is a tool to keep readily available in your car should the need arise, or specifically carried as a first responder. Victorinox makes a lot of knives that are generally useful in a wide range of environments. They also make some that are more specific to a particular set of tasks. This one falls in to the latter category. Everyone should have some sort of tool in their car in the event of an emergency. This would be a good one.

Great knife

Bought this for my kid's birthday along with the Victorinox Swiss Army Knife Book of Whittling: 43 Easy Projects. As I mentioned in my review for the book, "Best present ever for him--definitely garnered some cool points." I love the locking blades because as a kid with not-so-cool knives I was constantly collapsing sharp blades onto my fingers (mostly because of bad technique & form). BTW, this blade is SHARP! Additionally, the versatility of this knife is amazing, especially in the eyes of a young boy--he will definitely test its features and safety when faced with any seemingly MacGyver situation! Heck, I wanted to! To my surprise he has not lost the toothpick or tweezers yet. The case that comes with the knife seems durable enough. If you're wondering if the color is "cool" enough, consider posing the "color question" the first time your son drops it while hiking...unless you're hiking through a sulphur deposit. The light will turn on in his head! Definitely getting one for my next son when he comes of age. I did a review of the book as well but you'll have to search for the review...

My wife bought this knife for me for Christmas. I am always a bit skeptical of the latest and greatest thing, but I gave this knife a try, and was quite impressed. On a recent deer hunt, I gutted, skinned, and quartered a deer using just this knife. Now it obviously didn't do the job better than specialized tools, and it needed sharpening after the fact, but did the job well. I am fully confident that if I had to extract a person from a car, or bring down a corrupt organization single-handedly with McGuyver-like finesse, this would be my choice of Swiss-Army Knife. If I could only have one knife this one would be hard to part with; my Air Force pilot survival knife would have quite a competitor. Sharp as a razor, one of the only knives NOT made in China, and definitely worth the purchase price.

Great gift for friend who loves camping. He found the various tools interesting and the application as a safety device for the car was helpful.

É uma multitool bem específica, para o socorro altomotivo, pode ser usado também no dia a dia, mas o amarelo fosforecente chama muita atenção, apesar de ser muito bonito, nesse caso recomendaria o preto. Porém com a qualidade absurda da Victorinox.

2013年2月に☆YMKマルシェ☆から 7,248円で購入しました。安心品質のヴィクトリノクスです。 万が一に備えて、車のコンソールボックスに入れてあります。もっとも、それは警察にとって取り締まりの対象になるらしいです。この国の治安の良さは、自分の身を守るための最小限の備えも制限することで成り立っているのでしょうか。ダガーナイフならまだしも、スイスアーミーナイフの持参を取り締まることが、治安にとってどれだけの意味があるのでしょうね。
