It it sharp. It is made of metal. It is in the shape of a butchers knife. But to say that it is a proper butchers knife is a joke, the knife is very thin like 47/1000 of an inch yes i measured it. I am pretty sure a butchers knife should have some heft to help chop not be a feather weight, so to use the words "heavy duty" I find a joke.

The product is very useful and I feel it is very reasonably priced. The sharpness, the quality of the steel and the effectiveness of the product is really great.
