Fun project!
Took about 2 hours to build with Mom and 8yo. Was kind of fiddly but we had built other T&K kits before and knew to expect this. The toy works just as advertised! In the green mode it flips for each clap, the orange mode you have to applaude like crazy, and in the green/orange mode he has an attitude and goes to sleep when he's bored. Pretty cute little build project!

A frustrating piece of junk.
I'm good at assembly. I'm good at following printed directions - even mediocre ones that require a magnifying glass like the ones supplied with this kit. I cannot debug this thing. I've taken it apart and reassembled it several times, and the mechanism still clicks and binds every single time. The "modes" are difficult to find - you have to hold a button down for a short period of time, or a long period time - who knows - it's really hard to find the mode you want, and the damn thing takes forever to switch off. The motor wires break off and have to be re-soldered. Definitely not for a 7 year old, a 10 year old, or even a 50 year old. It's a poor design that is seems to be made complicated simply for the purpose of making it complicated... and for raising your blood pressure. One star and NOT recommended.

Hard to determine cause of problems
All parts must be snipped out of a plastic frame. There is one early point where you connect the battery and control module to test the gears. There is no further test until you are done. When you are done and the gears make a strange noise it is difficult to take apart to fix. I still do not know why mine does not work after taking it apart many times. There was also one bracing rod that did not seem to fit without cutting and glueing. This definitely has nothing to do with my problem. I would like to see more explanation about the design and how everything works with just a forward and reverse of the motor. It may help to determine what would cause certain problems. REVISED: I finally got it to work. It needs a smooth floor and will flip on its side on a rug. I think it just took a while for the gears to turn smoothly.

Harder to assemble than it should be
This is a fun toy, but if you expect your child to assemble it, even with help, you are out of luck you will end up doing almost all of it while they inpatientely ask you when it will be done while trying to help.

My daughter loveee this. She is 8y old Daddy had to help, but they had fun. You need to have a very wake up child, to build it alone, or older. Downside ? It work n all But the kid got desinterest quickly once its over

A lot of work but worth the effort. My son and I had a great time making it. Take your time and be sure to follow the instructions carefully. Tip: I used nail clippers to cut off the extra plastic pieces when I detached them. One small piece was broken but the support team sent a replacement with no issues and it got here fast. Awesome toy
