Does not come apart. Comb portion not thin or made of cheap material. Point is perfect, not blunt.My daughter tosses it in her bookbag on gym days and takes it with her on sleepovers and it hasn't fallen apart.

Exactly what I was looking for to create a clean middle part in my hair. Metal end feels substantial and the comb feels good quality. No complaints, just a good basic comb to get the job done if that's what you're looking for.
