It's a good none technically book.
I find this book very informative. If you love space, and you have always wondered certain thing about how satellites work and want to know more about space environment this is a great book. I would certainly recommend this book for a high school or even a middle school students.

Taught me a lot
I liked this book. It's a lot easier to read than an engineering book. I liked the way the author explained some fundamental concepts about satellites for the lay person. As a non-engineer, I still found some of the book to be a challenge, but I still learned a lot. I especially liked the historical perspective on physics at the beginning. It's a very interesting read and an effective approach for tackling such a difficult topic.

Great overview
Description of subsystems, spacecraft design, and the environment in which they operate (including the role of gravity and nature of orbits). Understandable. Gives insight into engineering problems that might not be immediately obvious.

Brilliant Book
Covers all the aspects of Space-Craft mechanics in a lucid language without any maths. Read it... You will develop an idea of "How Space-Crafts Fly?"

Interesting exploration of the serious science of space flight.
Interesting exploration of the serious science of space flight, explained for the ordinary reader.

Right amount of detailing !!!
I've read only a few pages each in several chapters... just to get the feel of the book... And what a wonderful piece of writing. Swinerd covers fresh ground by elucidating several conceptual and operational aspects of satellite flight... And he does it without being too technical. Neither does he resort to populistic simplicity which deprives lay men of the fun and challenges involved in running a satellite.PS: Will post a detailed review on completion.Though I wanted to rate 5-star, I am currently unqualified, so 4-star :)

Space flight basics
If you are an aviator, you most probably learned about basic aerodynamics from Kermode's "Flight without Formulae". This one is similar one if you want to learn about space flights. Very basic and entertaining.
