If you are taking a class on Chaucer, than this may not be for you...
I first got the sample but it did not give me much information on if the language that would be used, would be a mix of Middle English and Modern English or just Middle English. Upon getting the digital book, and comparing the General Prologue to another copy it seems to use a mixture that is not at all helpful when you need the Middle English. It does do a descent job with the glossary but all in all not worth it for me as a student taking a class on Chaucer.

Another No-Brainer for Kindle
If you're going to charge money for an item that is free in the public domain it should be improved. You never know for sure what someone might mean by "Annotated"("with notes", I suppose), but it is fair to assume that it means some work has gone into preparing the thing for public use.But there still is not a usable table of contents. The greatest weakness of the ebook format is the lack of the ability to "thumb through" a volume. Without a table-of-contents link, only the "find" function is available, and by the time you finish texting that you may have forgotten why.I tried several of the available choices that were in what I consider to be a reasonable price range (you really have to buy them to check them because the descriptions are worthless), and all those I tried shared this flaw.In a list (that is unbelievably long) of ebook versions on Amazon this was the most recent kindle edition I could find. It should have been perfected by now.At the very least all product descriptions should describe the product's format and functions and include a thorough listing of the contents. Anything less is lazy, shoddy and unacceptable.

but good edition of "Canterbury Tales"
Over-priced, but good edition of "Canterbury Tales". Based on the Riverside Chaucer, the standard, with typeface large enough to be read without a magnifying glass -- unlike the paperback Riverside -- but light enough to be carried -- unlike the hard-cover Riverside.

no table of contents
In the kindle version, there is no table of contents. This makes it useless for reference.

Misleading
I thought I was purchasing the book by Barbara Cohen as the cover suggested. It is not the book by Barbara Cohen, just the original that I could have paid far less for had I wanted it.

Three Stars
An excellent text but difficult as an e-book as cannot readily switch from text to notes/explanations
