Finally, a Great ROOFING Hex Driver
OK, so I've bought a lot of nut drivers. Some in the form of extenders for phillips bits, some in the form of sockets. These are different and let me explain the difference:These are not for holding a socket, though they sound like it because of the 1/4 - inch size. They are very shallow and with a very strong magnet. They are perfect for my application of holding hex-head roofing screws while installing corrugated metal roofing. Corrugated roofing requires the screw to be put on the TOP of the ridges, which means until the screw bites and goes through, it's easy for it to slip. With normal sockets, you have to hold the screw with your finger and press hard on the drill motor... and it slips OFTEN. This usually rips a scratch in the galvanized roofing which will later rust and quite often the screw flies out and the socket comes down hard on your fingers, turning and tearing away skin and causing great pain! The extender-type drivers are all (that I've found) made of softer metal that strips out in time.THESE nut drivers hold the screw securely with a STRONG magnet, so it's not necessary to put your fingers on the screw except just to position it. It holds the screw straight while getting it to bite into the metal.Using these drivers, I can install the roofing screws THREE TIMES faster and not have to constantly chase the screws sliding off the roof, not have to stop while I curse and hold my torn fingers.THESE ARE BY FAR THE BEST DRIVERS for this application. The only downside for them would be if you're actually putting hex nuts in the driver to thread onto bolts. The magnet is so strong you'll need to thread a bolt onto it to get the nut out... and hey, that's not a bad deal at all!My thanks also to Hobby Tool Supply for FREE, VERY FAST shipping!I'm happy!

Bits are very loose. Not tight
I’m someone that installs metal roofing and builds barns. I’ve put in 1,000’s of screws a week for the last 15 years. These drivers are no good. They are very loose . If you try to put in screws with them , the driver will not hold them tight enough and you will become very frustrated. They might be ok for a homeowner project, but not for any serious construction projects

Not great for heavy use
Magnet falls out after a month of use. Bought 4, used 3 so far, in all 3 the magnet fell out. Going to try and JB weld them back in. See how it goes.
