Does exactly what I needed it to do!
If you experience a no passthrough, black screen. Remote connect to your device and check your video settings! Read On.I have a 4-port KVM with dual HDMI. I run a mixture of Windows and Linux systems (Mint, Ubuntu). When switching my Windows computers. They sync up quickly, about a second. The Linux systems are a different story. The displays black out for about 10 seconds, per screen. I’ve been trying to fix this in software with no luck. A hardware solution seems easer. I hoped these EDID passthroughs would solve my problems, and it did. However! When I first connected the passthroughs. All I saw was black screens with an occasional flicker. Like it was trying to sync but couldn’t do it. When I remote connected. I found out why. The OS detected the passthrough as a 4K compatible display. Then the OS bumped my resolution up to 4K. Thanks Linux! Unfortunately, my displays are 2K. Once I checked the resolution back to 2560x1440. All works as expected.Additionally, the description says no DP->HDMI adapter support. Maybe they are referring to passive adapters. I am using an 4K active DisplayPort to HDMI 1.4 adapter. The passthrough is working great.

Necessary part of any AV tool kit
Solves all sorts of EDID issues. I have about 8 of these in my kit in a variety of EDID's.

Does not work with 4K as advertised
I bought this specifically for 4k resolution, yet it refused to work after 1920x1080. No way to configure and the "documentation" (if you want to call it that) is basically the amazon description, which is useless. Not labeled, so if you have a bunch of these for KVM setups, etc, you better label it yourself. It does work for 1920x1080 and no matter what I do if I try to output more it throws "input out of range" error on the monitor.Returned.

Can't get it to work w. BenQ monitor @59.951 hz
I was trying to use these to connect my older Win7 machine and my newer Win10 machine to a single BenQ monitor I run in portrait mode instead of landscape. I guess it works on the Win7 machine, but on the Win10 machine with Nvidia RTX 3060 I always get "out of range" error no matter what I do. I run both machines at 2560 x 1440 (portrait mode) and the BenQ monitor ONLY runs at 59.951 HZ with no way to change it. I see that most monitors actually run at 59.94 HZ so maybe this slight discrepancy is causing my issue? It was worth a try but I guess I'll have to buy a proper HDMI KVM switch with EDID emulation.

Works in Portrait resolutions
BACKSTORY: I have an interesting dual monitor setup. One has adaptive sync and one is an old laptop screen wired up with a board that allows me to use it as a desktop monitor. If I plug both into my Nvidia GPU, whenever there is anything moving on the second screen (even the little flashing orange taskbar notification of an app that needs attention), my adaptive sync screen loses a ton of frames. The solution was to plug my secondary into my iGPU, which worked except that apparently this board will constantly disconnect and reconnect when it's "sleeping", causing all my windows to be moved and resized upon waking. This apparently wasn't an issue when my secondary was plugged into my GPU, as Nvidia remembers and stores the EDID information of screens. When I upgraded to an adaptive sync monitor and had to move my secondary to the iGPU, this problem became apparent.Enter this EDID emulator. I am writing this within minutes of receiving it (May 2020), so it is a very initial review with no regard to longevity, however, it works flawlessly. I have my second monitor in a portrait configuration, and this little device has no problem with that. When the screen goes to sleep, my windows stay exactly where they are. This is exactly what I needed. If there are no further updates to this review, then it is safe to assume it is still working as expected and advertised.

Does what it says it will
Now, I humbly request that the manufacturer make another product, or if they already do, tell me how to get it:I want something identical to this with the added feature that it translates computer sleep display commands to HDMI CEC TV OFF commands and converts computer wake display commands to HDMI CEC TV ON commands. If they added that set of features then my $399 4k 43" TV would act just like a 43" 4k computer display. With this pass through, as delivered, all I have to do is the manual TV on in the morning where as without this device, I'd lose TV audio (unless I rebooted) and I'd have to put all of my app windows back the way I left them the day before. If that add translation between computer display commands and HDMI CEC TV commands, then I'd just pick up where I left off by waking my computer.Awesome 4k 60hz product! Awesome price.Note for new users, if you hot plug this device, perhaps this only occurs with TV off, it will start out at 1080p, then when you go to display settings the max available will be a 2k resolution. Once you apply and verify the highest resolution, your computer will detect the 4k resolution. Once you set it to 4k, your computer will think the 4k display is there and maintain the state of that screen even when your TV sleeps or turns itself off after your PC sleeps, and then when it wakes, your screen will still be the way you left it (even if you can't see it), even if you forget to turn your TV back on for a while.

Only supports a single 1920x1200 mode, CVT-RB @60hz. Identifies as DELL 2408WFP. Rewritable.
This device appears to contain EDID copied from a Dell 2408WFP, ID DELA02C. It only supports 1920x1200@60hz CVT-RB, so is only compatible with monitors supporting this video format. Giving it 4 stars (instead of 3) because the EDID data is rewritable.

Fixes main problem however...
The main reason I bought this product was because recently I had the problem of the monitor having a black screen, crashing then restarting PC whenever I switched inputs of my TV to the PS5. Since my PC has an HDMI cable also connected to the TV, this new problem started with my new RTX 4080 GPU when my previous RTX 3080 card never had this issue. So the good thing is I solved the problem after using this HDMI EDID and no more crashes. Other minor annoyances solved include the monitor no longer flashing when TV is turned on or off and used as duplicate screen. This used to happen all the time but monitor doesn't get interrupted anymore. The bad part is since this HDMI EDID is maxed at 60Hz is causes another problem with my 240Hz monitor. While browsing and mouse over on the pages it would cause a lot of flickering and the only solution is to lower my monitor refresh rate to 120Hz which isn't desirable but there's no other choice. Also it never shows the 3180 x 2160 resolution option so does this product really support 4K is the question.

Very cheap alternative to EDID emulator devices
If you ever lost your multiple-monitor configuration, your audio configuration, your screen resolution or your icon layout, this device is most certainly for you! I use my PC with a projector and with a TV using a matrix 4x2 HDMI switch. Anytime I would switch inputs or turn on the projector or TV, the PC would re-detect the HDMI display, most often as if it was new, and break my current monitor and audio configuration. Using this pass-through EDID emulator between the video card and the display completely eliminates this problem as the PC always sees the "display". In my situation, I used 2 of these (one for each display) but depending on your configuration, 1 may be enough.I took away a star due to the fact the the emulated EDID (4k video and stereo audio) did not match my setup. In fact, using this device took away my ability to pass multi-channel surround. What was the most surprising to me is that, of the two devices I purchased, they had different EDID values! One allowed Stereo PCM, DTS and DD and the other only Stereo PCM. Nonetheless, because this is being used on a PC, I used Moninfo to override the EDID by creating an INF of my monitor (and AVR) hooked up directly to the PC and installing that INF on the Fueran HDMI Pass-Through, effectively tricking Windows in believing that this pass-through had the exact same capabilities than my display and AVR. A very cheap alternative, and just as effective when used with a PC running Windows, to the other EDID emulators on the market.

Does what it says on the box.
I purchased 2 units to sit between the outputs of 2 machines connected to a HDMI Switch. Without these units, each machine would "lose" the extended desktop and one machine had to have the programs restarted every time we switched. These devices provide an in-line dummy display to a projector that is 16 Metres from the switch and we can now preload whatever we want to display and switch between them with ease - Perfect !

Secret weapon
I’ve been using two of these with a 2019 Mac Pro and they are magic. I can turn either screen on in any order and the system never bugs out or glitches. Perfect for a studio or professional environment where you want consistency and keeping disruptions to a minimum.

Worked as I hoped
I run a Mac and PC side-by-side with two 4K monitors that I switch between systems regularly. When I switch the monitor inputs, the Mac screen(s) go black as it detects the change in displays and adjusts. I bought an HDMI matrix switch with EDID management, but that didn't solve the problem. This pass-through EDID emulator worked. When I change display inputs, the Mac doesn't go black anymore and the displays stay "alive" (the Mac thinks they're still active).I'm also using it on a DisplayPort to HDMI cable (DP from computer -> emulator -> HDMI switch -> monitor), but it's an active unidirectional cable. Maybe that's why it works (despite the emulator noting DP to HDMI cables won't work).
