Handy and reliable tool
This tool is a major time saver and great for getting things fined tuned for plumb and level. I use it mostly in framing applications for shooting elevations for posts and getting my raised foundations nice and level. Also helpful in plumbing tall walls where a plate level won’t reach.

Best PLS5 yet
This new model is a nice upgrade from the previous models that didn’t have a Pendulum lock on it. It Is very accurate and very bright. The laser dot can be seen clearly if used outside or inside. I have owned many of the previous models and this one is the best by far. The included Hard case is padded inside this is a nice feature to prevent damage.

Very well made, throws 5 points (not lines) Useful (no more 3/4/5) but directions could be better.
This laser does not throw a line, it throws five points. It is self leveling (you really want this in a laser if you are using it often) and does plumb, level and square horizontal and vertical points.Accuracy is 1/8" @ 30' (3mm @ 10m). Working range (theory) is 100 feet using a detector (which is not included). Batteries last about 30 hours. Point Laser Diameter ≤ 4 mm at 5 mWhat do you use this for?Transfer points from floor to ceilings. For example if you are putting can lights in on the ceiling, and want them in a straight line you can mark this on the floor and then use the laser to cast a point on the ceiling to mark where your can light will go. Works well for track lighting.Laying out 90 degree walls using 3/4/5 triangle method. Makes corner layout much faster. Also makes squaring stud walls a one person job. Makes aligning walls easier as well.Transfering heights. For example if you are doing chair molding or installing electrical outlets you can mount this on a tripod (not included, but my camera tripod fit it fine) and then rotate it to show the height on the wall. This can save you a huge amount of time. The green laser is much more visible than a red one. Easily could see across a 45 foot indoor range. Outside gets much trickier, although was able to use this to alight a 30 foot long deck type walkway with a little bit of finagling (using a large white posterboard) on an overcast day. This is very solid construction and comes with a HUGE case (not sure why it is so big). Comes with a well made carry case for your belt (but it is pretty heavy to wear on a belt)It is rated PS 54. These are read by dust resistance first (scale from 1-6) so this one is a 5 which is fairly dust tight, important on a job site. And th second number is a 4 on a scale from 1-8 for water resistance, it can handle being splashed a bit, but that is all. If you drop this in a bucket of water, all bets are off.Needs more/better instructions. I struggled even to get the battery cover off (push down on the tab at the top while pulling straight out. The picture directions (I attached these) leave a bit to be desired (the unlock switch is on one side and you slide it)

Great 5 point laser level
Pacific Laser Systems & Fluke (it's parent company) are well respected companies and this laser level shows why. It is rugged, bright, self leveling, and easy to use. It claims to be accurate to 1/8" @ 30 feet and in use that seems about right. The working range is 100 feet, but without a detector you won't get anything like that outdoors. Indoors, I don't have a 100 foot run to test it but it seems likely based on shorter distances. The kit comes with the floor stand, mounting bracket, and a large storage/transportation case. For those not very familiar with laser levels, this particular style of level does NOT put lines on the wall. It has 5 pin-point dots: one up, one down, one forward, and one to each side. This allows you to transfer locations from one wall to another, from the ceiling to the floor (or the other way around), layout framing including perfect 90 degree corners, etc. It is harder to use, though, for many homeowner type operations such as lining up picture frames where having a line all along a wall at once really makes the job a snap. However, if you are doing the kinds of layout that are suited to a 5 point level, it would be hard to go wrong with this one. It is really made to last and is dead simple to use.

If you have issues. You are hung out to dry
After 2 years it died. Not used very often. Changed batteries. Tried contacting company with no luck. Gotta jump through hoops to get them to respond

Nice
This is a very good level, which I think will last.Unpacking it, the first thing I noticed is that it's made durably. Having owned a few different laser levels, it stands out as well protected, with a dense rubber shell. It's fairly long range, which is nice. 30 feet with 1/8 accuracy, and up to 100 feet with a sensor (not included). For me, this means it'll be all I need for most jobs. The laser points go in five directions, so setting it up in a room, you'll get three wall points as well as a plumb line. Not sure why, but the carrying case is unnecessarily large. Inside, it's not super well organized, and there's a lot of air space; this may not seem important, but taking tools to a job site usually means packing well. So I may look for another way to store it.I'm glad to have it and I'd recommend. It's really good so far; if anything stands out over time (good or bad), I'll update this review. Hope it helps.

Good kit
Good laser level kit, the box it comes with is massive and has no padding in it which is a shame given the price. Laser level works great but the case really should offer some protection.
