US Art Frames 24x32 Flat Black 1.25 Inch Wide, Smooth Wrapped Wall Decor Picture Poster Photo Frame

Ordered this frame three weeks before Christmas to frame an elephant painting for my wife. I was looking for a modern looking frame with simple lines that I could add a mat to and do the project myself. After reading a review for another frame maker here on Amazon, I was worried about how sturdy a 22x30 wooden frame would be. I was pleasantly surprised at how sturdy it is. Not sure what the other company used for their materials that allowed it to sag in the middle, but USArt built a very, very sturdy frame.I did have one problem with the order, it was dropped by the shipping company and a corner of the plexiglass had 3 cracks in it radiating out from the impact point. The frame itself wasn't too damaged, just a slight flattening of the corner on the backside of the frame. I contacted USArt and they are shipping a new plexiglass to me to replace it. It wasn't their fault, but fixing the issue none the less.Also, if you are worried about the look of the plexiglass as opposed to real glass like I was, you shouldn't be. This isn't very thick plexiglass, but it is sturdy. It is crystal clear, it isn't like the thicker stuff you would get at a hardware store. I've heard that the plexi can look warped or wavy, but that doesn't appear to be the case for me. With the sturdy backing that this frame comes with, the mat and painting were pressed to the glass and it all looks amazing. In fact unless you tap the plexi you can't tell it isn't real glass. I'm glad it wasn't glass or the project would have been ruined when the shippers dropped it. Instead I was able to finish it with the broken plexi and will just swap out the new one when it arrives.

This was not the easiest purchase I have made from Amazon...the first frame I ordered had slight gaps in two of the corners where the frame pieces weren't tightly sealed which caused the frame to be warped and not lay flat on the wall. Because of the positive reviews and the rare frame size, I returned the first frame and reordered a second. Well, the second frame was perfect (corners sealed tightly) but after removing the double sided protectant layer and trying to place the plastic back in the frame, the plastic snagged on one of the metal prongs and cracked! Soooo, my next thought was "third times a charm, right?" I returned that one and ordered a 3rd frame which finally worked out for me!The frame is nice enough. It is lightweight and not the best quality. The "glass" is actually plastic, and there is more of a glare than on regular frames. But for the price, and the fact that it's a rare frame size, it will do well for us for a print in our theater room. Just be very careful replacing the plastic as it cracks so easily!!

I bought the 24x32 version. For the price, this was pretty good. If you had asked me a month ago, I would have been more on the fence...then I ordered what I thought was the same frame but in fact turned out to be another brand with the same price...and the other brand was really terrible! So now that I have a comparison I'm pretty pleased with this one. the other one is backed by thin cardboard, hardly as thick as the cardboard of a box. This one is backed by much stiffer fiberboard. The other one doesn't hold it's shape at all when the cardboard isn't in it -- it flexes and bends so much that it was hard to load the poster in. This one holds its shape much better. This is certainly not a super high quality item, and doesn't hold a candle to a professional frame job...but it also costs a fraction of those. I am satisfied.

Frame is of good (not GREAT) quality, but appropriate for its price. Frame itself is made of what looks like lightweight pine and the color/texture is glued-on vinyl (the kind that you normally find with furniture that you assemble yourself). It has a pleasant appearance and seems solidly built, but would likely not survive any abuse. The Plexiglass is a bit thin and does have a tendency to slightly bow (it doesn't stay completely flat). However, the poster that I framed still looks good and the bowing of the Plexiglass is not really visible. Packaging was excellent, with a lot of room around the edges to prevent damage during shipping. All items needed to frame a poster (except a nail or hook for the wall) are included.Product could be improved slightly by providing a thicker Plexiglass and using a thin composite wood backing instead of cardboard. However, this would certainly result in a higher-priced frame.This frame is great for hanging a poster, giving it a great look and some protection against damage. I would definitely recommend it for this purpose.

These frames were bought for some beautiful posters, and they've worked really nicely. In the attached photo, the map and Kandinsky print are a small size, just the blue one in the background is this piece. The surfaces are nice and smooth, the black is a nice contrast to anything you put in them. You could probably put in a piece of artwork with a little texture, but not much - better for posters and 2d pieces. I only took one star off because my husband repeatedly cut his hands while trying to get the backs open and closed to insert the posters - if I could give 4.5 stars, that would probably be a more accurate rating - Amazon, get on that! For women or men with longer nails it will likely be simpler than it was for him - he's a nail biter ;-)If you've found my review helpful, please upvote it below so that it can help inform more people!

It is a nice frame as described. The emphasis should be on the art not the frame so simpler (and cheaper) is better, IMO. Very light frame and acrylic protective sheet - less than 4 pounds weight with poster so you can hang up with double-backed sticky foam. The acrylic is the softest and lightest I have in any frame so I worried it will scratch very easily. I finally decided since I had all my posters laminated when I bought them, I will just do away with acrylic covers and have them all dry mounted. The acrylic is so reflective in all these frames it just detracts from the art anyway.Took off 1 star for the acrylic being so very light but if you decide to do without the acrylic than it is 5 stars.
