Good so far, very stylish kettle.
The day came, when we had to choose a new kettle..and, oh boy.. it was a real challenge, time consuming the least to say.. You'd think, it's just a kettle, shouldn't be that complicated.. but it was! we started at the price range between £35-69.. read about 100 reviews of different known brands and.. it wasn't great to be honest, people were wondering, how possibly it can be so difficult to make just a simply cuppa?! but .. again.. CHn.. made never guaranties much durability, that's a fact. So, to avoid the hassle of buying and then returning we decided to increase the price range.. And then we come across this one - Breville 'Manhattan' kettle, and... almost a year later it still works well, a bit loud, but I think it's due to it's 3000W, which gives us a quick boiling time. It looks really nice in our kitchen and people notice as it's very stylish. So far so good and so far I can say, that it was worth the money, even though we never before spent on the kettle that much. Previous our Breville kettle give the ends off after nearly 8 years.

Glam modern kettle, gorgeous and stylish
Gorgeous kettle, very snazzy and glamorous, I bought this as a matching set with the toaster at the same time.Kettle has lower base light that comes on when it's switched on, it's a little noisy but what do you expect!Nice wide spout, well designed, no worries on scalding yourself when pouring water out, unlike the old traditional style which have the top handles.Almost went for a retro kettle until I saw this.Matches my art deco vibe in my house love it!

Have had less than a year
Great looking except we have had ours since Feb and already the outside of the kettle has started to blister. Disappointing considering it’s not a cheap. No reply from sender and Bretville have sent me back to the sender... pretty disappointed.

FUNCTIONAL ELEGANCE
I love this kettle so much, I am considering buy a spare. Purchased 4-5 months ago. It is very elegant, but also functions incredibly well. The release mechanism for the lid is discreetly a part of the handle, which adds to the sleek finish as there are no surplus buttons, besides the power switch (which at first seemed a little flimsy, but has proved to be quite robust). It boils quite quickly.

Well made and classy looking
This jug-style kettle is described on the product information page as having a "cordless base" which left me intrigued as to what to expect when it arrived. I wondered what new technology this was that could manufacture a kettle that would sit on an automatically heat-generating base! Lo and behold, when it arrived the base does, as you would expect, contain a cord, so beware a somewhat misleading product description! The cord of the kettle I received was positioned in such a way that it emerges from the base at the point opposite the feed-notch in the base, thereby effectively reducing the usable length of the cord by 19 cms (7.5") from 80 cms (31.5") to 51 cms (24"). This could be simply a manufacturing error in the kettle I was sent, but if not it is worth keeping in mind for the proximity of your power point to the kettle's desired location. That apart, this is a high-quality and attractive kettle. The one I have is in white but it is not a cold bluey white but rather a soft ivory white which I prefer. It has a good capacity 1.7 litres and its 3 kW power means it comes to the boil very quickly. The lid is opened by means of a discreet (almost invisible) switch located within the vertical part of the handle which flips the lid upright. The clear water-level window is located behind the handle, whereas I would prefer it directly on the side between the spout and the handle where it is more easily visible. This kettle has a novelty feature - a bright white light comes on encircling the base of the kettle when it is heating. I can see that this could be useful if you have children and want to be sure they have a visible indication that the kettle is heating up as it acts as a warning. Similarly for anyone with impaired vision this could be quite a useful feature to flag up that the kettle is getting hot. Obviously as with all kettles it also makes a noise when the water is being boiled.I like the clean, simple, unfussy design and although at £89.99 (Amazon price at time of review) it is not cheap, it is a well made and classy looking kettle.

Too hot on surface
I just can say it is not a perfect product. Too hot on surface , dangerouse to child. If possible , change it to double wall stainless steel on body. Painting on surface easy change due to too hot on surface. I buy white one but now become too much creamy which is not my expectation.Others are OK !
