Strong Magnets - Work Great!
My wife asked me to repaint our staircase and turn it into a picture wall, which ended up having almost 50 small and medium size picture frames of family on it. I was worried that it would be difficult to get so many frames on the wall and have it look good so I decided to try magnetic paint and magnets. Even the super strong regular magnets I bought wouldn't hold hardly anything but these magnets hold great. They have several times the holding force. I had them on hand when I painted so I knew when I had enough coats of magnetic paint on the wall. Once I did, I painted our topcoat over the magnetic paint.Mission success! My wife and I love the look and feel of this wall. It has so many advantages over nails and tacks. This is clearly the right product for any project with multiple objects that you may want to re-arrange. It's not just the need to re-arrange but the initial hanging. It would be extremely difficult to hang multiple frames and be happy where they all are after you are done. It was actually fun getting the picture wall just the way we wanted it! I also have lots of room to expand and we plan on adding more frames in the near future.A few issues we have seen:We used one or two magnets per frame but some of the frames that initially seemed steady can slowly creep or travel. We noticed this with a couple of the larger frames and I simply added another magnet. Also, the double sided tape needs a good surface to adhere to that is stronger than the magnetic force. Because we were using old frames we had a mix of mounting surfaces, some that included paper or felt that had been glued to the wood frame. A few of these needed to be re-worked after they gave way before the magnets. We removed the failing layer and then adhered the magnets right to the wood frame using a roll of double-sided tape we bought at the hardware store.

arrived on time - and yes they stick great on the magnetic wall through 2 coats of chalkboard paint. The problem is, they lay flat against the wall and are pretty thin, which is going to cause me to dig behind them with a fingernail to release them. I can see gouges in my paint in the future. :( The side facing you will be green checkerboard - not very appealing IMO. The paper can be peeled off to use it as an actual sticker on the side opposite the magnet side. All in all, yes they stick but moving them around is not very convenient. I ordered some other 'push pin' type of magnets which are much easier to release from the wall, and I'll use these on the side of the refrigerator instead.

Im Hooked!
We painted our entire kitchen with magnetic primer and chalkboard paint so that our son and i could have some fun with chalk drawings and magnetic alphabet letters and such. I was very unimpressed when every magnet i tried simply fell to the floor when i tried putting them up. I received some "hooked on paint" magnets from a client of mine and eagerly tried them when i got home. To my surprise the magnets literally jumped out of my hand and stuck to the wall. I used these four on the back or a dry erase calendar and bulletin board approximately 12"x24" and had no problem holding it up. Perhaps the thing i was happiest about was i bought a grill at a local hardware store and for the last year any time we have a storm come through the door on the grill would slam over and over with every gust of wind. I questioned why they would build this thing without a magnets to hold the door shut. I then realized that the store must have put the base together backwards because it did have a magnet, only on the wrong side where there isn't a door. So instead of taking it apart i just used one of these beauties. Now my 2 year old can't even open that door much less the wind. Very impressed with these magnets!!!

Surprisingly strong
These are what 1" magnet squares *should* be like - I'd previously needed a set of 5 "normal" adhesive magnet squares to hold a magnetic CLEAN/DIRTY sign on to the (plastic) front of a dishwasher, and those only just barely held it in place; I was able to put *one* of these squares on and it solidly grabs the sign when I bring it near. Since I only needed one square to do the job, I was also able to put it in a more convenient location. I'm definitely planning to try hanging other things with them (I don't yet know how good the *adhesive* part is, but the magnet part is great.)

Easy to Use & They Work Great!
We've placed 2 orders for Hooked on Paint magnets due to our positive experience on our 13' wall with over 30 framed pictures. We primed our wall with ~4 coats of magnetic receptive primer, plus 1-2 coats of finish paint to achieve excellent results. The Hooked on Paint magnets hold so well, that we learned we could use just 1 magnet on our smaller pictures. Note: make certain you attach these strong magnets on a clean, smooth surface on the back of the pictures to assure a firm bond.
