I recently tried this mechanical pencil with blue lead and found it to be a solid tool for the job. Despite some reviews mentioning smudging, I didn’t have that issue. The lead writes smoothly, easy to use and the blue color stands out clearly, and the pencil is durable and has great grip. The lead advances evenly, which is crucial for detailed work. Overall, it’s a reliable pencil that I’d recommend for anyone needing a good colored option for their work. Review: Nice pencil - - Writing experience is very good. Based on some reviews, this pencil “jump” when writing. This is true and expected because that is how the pencil slightly rotate the internal lead and make the function. At first, I was concerned about this “jumping” writing experience. However, it actually writes very good. It does not write up-and-down like roller coaster at all. It is very easy to control and it is a very pleasant and interesting writing experience. I really like it. - It also automatically feed out lead in a very pleasant speed. The pre-installed black lead feeds a better speed. In contrast, the accompanied blue leads seem softer, therefore, the speed of consumption outcompetes the speed of auto-feeding. - It is a great value for money given this is a combo. - I know this specification has a higher quality variation with much steady materials (metal like). I would be confident to buy the upgraded one, although it has a higher price. Insummary, I like this pencil a lol because it has a high quality and gives a great writing experience with a very affordable price.

The perfect blend of function and form
This has got to be one of the most attractive pencils I've bought. It is perfectly paired with the blue colored lead too. Colored leads in my experience break easily and wear down on one face really fast so make for broad and clunky writing. With the Kuru Toga, the blue pencil lead is crisp and the lead is well protected from breaking by the pencil's design. It is also one of the pencils that gets a lot of attention from people that see me write with it. Folks consistently ask what kind of pencil this is, admiringly. Its one of the best writing implement purchases I've ever made.

Fun color for writing
Purchased this set because I wanted to get blue lead for a mechanical pencil and this was the best deal with a bonus mechanical pencil included. The blue lead color is nice but not especially dark. The lead is softer than normal lead so wears down faster. I have had no issues with the lead breaking, the writing being difficult to erase, or having the writing smudge after it is on the paper. It works very well for taking notes. The pencil itself is decent and comfortable for writing. The little eraser is useless but I have a larger one I use for erasing. All in all I'm happy with the purchase and enjoy having a different color lead to take notes with.

Nice pencil, but a warning for those using it to draw guidelines under markers
I lost my trusty blue mechanical pencil that I use to draw guidelines so I got this one to try it out. First I want to say it's very nice, but probably not suitable for what I needed it for. I started drawing something else and decided to erase that and start over. I didn't press hard on the pencil but still could not completely erase the blue lines I had initially drew. Once I colored the drawing with alcohol markers, those blue lines came back in full force, and it's really clear. That's what those blue lines are on the face. So this pencil might be better for drafting and sketching on its own and not for drawing guidelines if you are a beginner and you erase a lot like I do.

Nice!
As an artist I can appreciate well made pencils. These are a great value. I particularly liked the non-photi blue leads as I do a lot of cartooning. Very functional. The size and width are spot on and the eraser is always a plus.

In the first week of use, the tip unscrewed itself from the body and I lost it, now it's here without any use.

I love Kuru Toga pencils. This one is great and actually works better than my Advance (which self-unscrews itself at the tip). The leads are good, so this is a good deal. I only wish that Kuru Toga made larger erasers. I prefer Kuru Togas for work that doesn't require a lot of erasing for this reason (very fine careful annotation work rather than quick and abundant paragraphs). The only reason why I might not buy this bundle is that I do like the retraction capability of the Advance.

This is our second purchase because my son loves it and so does his friend who keeps "borrowing" it at school. It will be a Christmas present to him from my son. The original pencil is still strong after a year and a half.
