And...
Okay, here it goes. I love this series and yet I’m so frustrated with it and the author. I am truly a die hard Addison Cain fan. Her brand of taboo/darkness/steam/what the heck did I just read, are like catnip to me. She’s an excellent writer, that can spin a tale unlike any other. I like where her mind takes me. However, it takes her forever and a day to put out a book and she has yet to finish some of her best creations! With this series, I’m so frustrated because this is book 4 and for anyone that read the first 3, knows that Jax is willing to do ANYTHING for her boys, that aren’t biologically her boys. She endures the sexual savagery from Caspian, Kieran and Toby. I think that each man is in love with her, but due to their lifestyle and childhoods, they are not able to express it to her. Mentally, Jax is at the end of her rope. Her only motivation to live is with the hope that as long as the 3 are interested in her, that they will uphold their end of the agreement to take care of her boys. But where the heck is this series going. She’s been knotted and mated in every way possible. Each man is jealous of the other and each one wats her heart and full devotion. After Caspian tosses her out, some stuff happens and the guys think she died. When she returns, she is put on an even tighter leash and the guys are at odds with each other. There are two other players that now have a position to play in Wren’s story and it’s annoying. I’m just wondering what all of this repetitiveness will result in occurring. On one hand, this story has dragged on, each book is really short and there’s always a lengthy wait for the next book. Buuuuuuuutttt, the storyline is so good and it kills me to not know how this will turn out. The cliffhanger in this one left me confused!

WAY TOO SHORT...good book though
Here’s the thing...this book is really good. The writing is phenomenal and the steamy scenes are depraved and glorious. However, this book ended on the strangest and most off-the-wall cliffhanger in literary history! It absolutely came out of nowhere...all of a sudden I’m reading about how her next book will be out soon and to keep an eye out for it. I purchased this book today and have been reading it off and on, but if I just sat and read this straight it would’ve taken me, maybe, an hour and a half to finish. At this point, I’ve invested too much coin to not continue the series and find out what happens! I think the author is very talented but I think she would really benefit from either writing books instead of novellas or cutting the cost down DRASTICALLY. At this point I think she’s losing a real opportunity to gain loyal readers and fans because they’re getting sick of being swindled out of three bucks a pop for a 100 page novella. We’re already at book four and I have no clue when this party will wrap up. I will definitely be finishing the series, however, I can’t see myself investing the funds into anymore of her novella series. It’s just not worth it when other authors are charging the same amount for substantially more content.

Deeper peek inside the crazy
**Spoilers abound**This gives a look inside each of the characters true motives. Toby is Toby, there isn't a lot there that isn't already on the surface. Kieran is his own worst enemy. In his grief, he lashes out and makes several really bad decisions that he ends up greatly regretting, but then he continues making bad decisions and digging himself deeper. He also shows the duality of his personality during his alone time with Wren. Rosie shows her true fears and it makes her seem a lot more "human" and that she actually deserves a bit of sympathy. The "Doll" is going to be a catalyst of some kind, likely unknowingly. Caspian has always maintained an aloofness toward his domination over Wren but that has "evolved." He now seems to be working toward making Wren dependent on him first and foremost, although he still enjoys sharing her. The sharing is more about controlling the other 2 alphas and keeping Wren in her place, which has always been the core of their relationship, but it seems to be more intense now. Also, his own psychopathy seems to be deepening and is made obvious in his plans for Wren's boys when he believes she ran away. He gleefully plans the "death by extreme torture" of both boys and that is just the beginning of the punishment he plans for Wren. He only finds out that she did NOT run away when he goes to collect the oldest boy so that he can begin the torture. At this rate, it will take several more books in order to wrap everything up without rushing it.
