Melissa & Doug Knight Role Play Costume Set

These are excellent! I bought two for my children for Halloween. Four years old & 2.5 years old. They fit great! The sleeves are just a little long on the 2 year old, but it says that it will fit up until 6 yrs so I'm very happy. The swords & shields are awesome. I'm most impressed with the quality. Re-enforced stitching so they won't tear easily. Great for two toddlers that play hard. And the fabric is soft and heavier. Way better than costumes that are so thin you have to bundle your kids up so they don't freeze when trick-or-treating. I especially love that they are super easy to get on and off and can be worn over regular clothes. They will be great for this Halloween and for years of imaginative play to come. Melissa & Doug will definitely be a company I buy from again & recommend to my friends. 👍🏻

I actually bought this to be a Halloween costume for my son. Halloween costumes are soooo cheap, and they never last past one night, and you spend almost as much on it anyway. Apparently, however, I did not read thoroughly enough. Because it says 3-6. Bummer. It's too big for my two year old, who is a little below average on height anyway. But that's okay, we're going to save it for next year. The thing is amazing in it's quality. The fabric is tough, and I can tell it's going to withstand a lot of wear and tear. The shield and sword are firm but pliable foam and I know that they'll last well too. We have tons of foam swords in this house, but this one is of really great quality. The fabric is soft, and I know it'll be comfortable to wear. The 'chain mail' looks pretty close, as close as you can get while it's fabric and not actually uncomfortable metal. My one complaint was that it was shipping in a box, folded over. The sword was bent in shipping. Though with a little effort, I was able to straighten the sword back out. I'm not too worried about it anyway, with a 2-3 year old running around with it, it's bound to get bent anyway. I'm not too upset, that was just the only downfall I had about it. Overall, it's a fantastic buy!

My 3 and 1/2 year old loves Mike the Knight and loves this costume. He slept in it the first night and wanted to wear it to school the next day. He usually likes to play the bad guy, so I like that this helps him play a good guy. I had to explain to him Mike the Knight has Dragons as friends, he does not kill animals. This made a good impression on him. The combo of the show and the costume is beneficial to helping him understand right and wrong. The sword and shield are soft but durable. They've already been bashed into trees and held up. He can also grow into the costume and provides freedome of movement. Great product and great seller.

We recently bought this set for our two and a half year old daughter. It's absolutely adorable!!! It's one of the most well-made dress up sets that we have bought. Size wise, the set is quite large on my daughter but does fit her well enough for her to play with and she is in the upper percentiles for height and weight. I'm fairly sure that it will fit her for several years. My only complaint is the sword does bend a bit, but I guess that could be a good thing as well...

I am so impressed with the quality of this costume! I have paid much more for halloween costumes that were cheap and flimsy. This is really well made and looks it - I don't even think the pictures do it justice. The material is really substantial, and the velcro fasteners in back make it really easy to get on and off of a toddler who hates putting things on over his head. It's also pretty comfortable - unlike some costumes with too much padding or that seem to really bother my child. I especially love that the sword is just floppy enough to be safe for whacking stuff (and sometimes people), but not too floppy to look real enough for a toddler. The shield is also good quality - very Mike the Knight reminiscent, which my toddler loved. All parts of the costume are still in great shape after several months of total abuse. The only thing it didn't come with was a real helmet, so we ordered one for about 5 dollars and now he has a pretty complete outfit.

I purchased two of the knight costume role play sets after searching the internet for knight costumes for weeks. They are a great quality both in fabric and construction. I believe they will hold up under the continuous play of both my 3 and 5 year old boys. The velcro in the back allows for both of my boys to wear them comfortably. The set also includes a great sword and shield, along with a headpiece. I had purchased these accessories (before finding this costume) at Target. The accessories alone were nearly the same price as this entire costume. Great deal, quality, not to mention a great price!

I got this for a cousin's birthday and my son loved it so much we had to get one for him. The material is lightweight, but sturdy and seems like it will last. The costume is really cute and my son loves that it came with a sword and shield. The price was a little high, but totally worth it. This feels like something that will last and won't need to be thrown out in a year.

We have three children under seven, so we love Melissa & Doug items at our house. They usually make very good quality products. Our four-year-old son was super excited to wear this costume for Halloween. It's cute and colorful and appears to be well made. It was adorable on him. The reason for my three-star review is that the costume did not hold up in the wash. We got rained on Halloween night, so I followed the directions on the tag to wash the costume. The shield insignia on the front of the tunic partially peeled away. I was so bummed, as my son pretty much wanted to live in this costume. Amazon did replace the costume right away (and I won't be washing the new one in the washing machine!).
