Syphon Filter 3 - PlayStation

It amazes me how many people dislike this game, after 19 years I finally was able to play it and enjoyed it. I remember when this game came out so much controversy came out, it's cool to see this story tied to Days Gone. I hope they bring this series back.

Growing up in the 90's, we've played through and beaten the first two games. We still play them today because of their great replay value but there was one game he missed out on.. The third game and so when I went on here and saw the price for it, I knew I had to get him this. If you've played through the first two games, you're bound to love this one.^^b

I purchased these for a friend who had them years ago and wanted another copy. No complaints from him.

If you played, SF 1 and 2, then 3 won't be any different. The controls are the same from the previous one. Graphics are still well done with some new character models. The story is a little different. You do still hunt for the Syphon Filter virus, but the majority of the game is based on flashbacks of the characters and what they did up until the events of the first game. This is the weakness of the third game and the ending is pretty dull. The game is fun, but short. I recommend this if you prefer Syphon Filter games on the PS1

After playing SF1 and SF2 I was really looking forward to another instalation to an awesome series. I also thought it was a crock when they postponed the game, but oh well. I was ready for another killer game. I was somewhat disapointed.To illustrate, I thought the strongest points of games 1 and 2 were the opening few levels, there was a great atmosphere in those games that was astounding. The first level in SF3 left me VERY dissapointed. The fist level should be the best, because it should make you want to play it all the more. Killing the first guy in stealth was fun, but the rest of the level was boring and had no point. It would have been more fun had you been able to snipe all the guys off in the different rooms than killing one and the rest of the 15-20 guys stand there and shoot at you. Indeed, the first levels are actually, to me, a downfall of the games as I felt myself pushing myself through the first number of levels.In addition, I played this game for an estimation of 5-6 hours, and conquered it with ease. It was entirely to short and almost too easy. And a great downfall is there was no one level that I just had to go and play again, no great experience that was unique to the game. My actual only decent experience came by accident, when I didn't pick up a gun I needed to kill the final person, and by accident, with an HK-5, killed the finail person, to conquer the game. The final level is not the best level in the game. I really don't know what level is that great.Also in this game there are no bosses, and no variety in how they make you kill the persons. I really missed the bosses placed throughout the game, as was so brilliantly done in the first and second.In conclusion, I was somewhat dissapointed with this game. I think they will continue the franchise on the PS2, but I hope it is better than this one. So, if your asking me if you should buy this game, yes definately, it still is a good gaming experience but, if your looking for the wonderful layout of the first two games, you won't find it here, but, maybe, I'm just asking too much.

I still can't believe I found a new unopened copy of this game in 2021 ! And for a great price too! Brought back alot of great memoriesI bought this game during its first release but lost it over the many years
