AniMed Pure Brewer's Yeast Powder for Dogs, 16-Ounce

I ordered this stuff deciding to get my pets back on brewers yeast. They do not have fleas, so I can't attest to it getting rid of fleas, as I'm sure it won't if you have an infestation. There are other added benefits of brewers yeast for dogs aside from pest repellent, so that's not the main reason I'm using it. The dogs love this stuff. In the past I would get the tablets and they loved those just as much. I only gave 4 stars because the powder is an absolute mess compared to the tablets. I'm sure this is a great option if you're using it to make treats, but I don't think there's an accurate way to measure how much is given in each treat, just my opinion. Also, the dogs eat the tablets as if they're treats anyways, so I don't see the hassle in making a treat with this powder. If you sprinkle this on your dog's food, make sure you mix water in with it. It dries out their mouths and gets pasty really quick if you don't. I have 3 dogs weighing; 53lbs, 60lbs, and 70lbs and in having this tub less than a week, it's almost gone already. Will be switching back to the tablets for ease of administering. I should note that one of our dogs is a 14 year old female who has succumbed to incontinence in her age. Only after purchasing this did I read about how it's known to help dogs with a "leaky" bladder. Sure enough, she's only had one incident since using this stuff less than a week, which is a huge improvement for her.

Purchased for nutritional benefits and flea-tick prevention. Works on all counts. I prepare all dog food, for my service dog, from scratch. This makes the nutritional benefits an important factor. I cannot use 'traditional' flea/tick treatments/repellents because of my severe MCS. My dog notices it if I forget to add it to the food... one time, she went to 'dig-in' to her breakfast and stopped, turned and looked at me with a strange look... I added the brewer's yeast and she wolfed her food down as usual!

I am reordering this product. I mix it with the dogs canned food and they gobble it right up. We were having flea problems with the Chihuahua and were reluctant to go with vet recommended chemical solution. He has cleared up. For a lot less money than the vet plan.

My dog & I LOVE this stuff. Be sure to follow recommended amount on directions. My vet said it can cause blockage if you give too much! I sprinkle it on his kibble with some ground flaxseed as well, add a little water & some carrots or whatever fresh produce I have on hand & he is a happy little wiener!!

I treat my yard in the spring, feed my dogs brewers yeast and never have flea problems. I've tried chemical solutions such as expensive Front Line and not happy. This is much more healthier option, my dogs love it and I save a ton of $$$ over the summer season. I too have tried with garlic, not a fan - My dogs like to get close to my face for lovin and the garlic is a little too much... I recently took my 13 yr old Affenpincher to the vet who commented on how healthy her skin and coat was - I attribute to the brewers yeast and her food. Now if I could find something to control my Shepherds shedding LOL!

This thrashed my dog’s stomach unfortunately. I was looking for an alternative for tick treatment even though I only found one on him but we live in the mountains so I wanted a preventative. It could work great with your pup but not mine it’s worth a try I think. I discontinued use right away since it gave him the big D and he started to refuse to eat his kibble with this in it.

The Brewer's Yeast has significantly helped with my Cattle Dog's shedding. He is on a great diet, gets fed coconut oil in each meal, but still sheds like crazy! I have noticed a very quick improvement since beginning to feed the yeast.

I have been this adding product to my dogs food and they love it. I ordered my second container and will attempt to make dog treats using the brewers yeast and coconut oil. Using it as a natural flea preventative and to help keep skin and hair in good condition.
