Hanukkah Tree Topper 2013 Christmas

Perhaps I didn't picture the size properly, but I'm not crazy about this tree topper for a full size "Hanukkah Bush" (our interfaith family's name for our Christmas Tree). It's small, too light weight, and very plasticky; which makes it difficult to get it to sit properly on our 6 ft tree. The "spring" that is supposed to fit over the top of the tree is very short so the Star of David bends to the left quite a bit. I am keeping it though, because it's fun to finally have something that stands out and really makes it look more in line with the way we celebrate the holidays. On Christmas Eve we will just switch to the Angel Tree Topper so that the pictures come out well and the tree doesn't look crooked.PROS:- It arrived very quickly- It's very hard to find Jewish/interfaith ornaments and tree toppers, so I really appreciate that it's available.- It didn't cost a lot, so I'm not giving it the 2 Stars I would have if it cost more, you get what you pay for.- It would look great on a smaller (4 1/2 ft or under) tree.CONS:- The "spring" that is supposed to fit over the top of the tree is much too short so it doesn't have the support to stand upright on a typical tree.- It's cheap, lightweight, plastic- On a full size tree it looks pretty small (but again they listed the size so that's my fault for not being able to picture it well).I wish they would offer a larger, sturdier option made out of a better quality material with a longer base. I would definitely buy that and know quite a few other families that would as well.

I've been looking for one of these for years. Every Holiday Season I log into eBay and Amazon and search and the only thing I was ever able to find were $40+ handmade stained glass Star of David tree toppers. As my husband is only culturally Jewish and keeps telling me that Hanukkah is simply no big deal (certainly no High Holy Day for Jews) and that Americans have made it a big deal in order to keep little Jewish kids from getting jealous of Christmas, I was only willing to spend but so much. This year we are VERY pregnant with our first child and plan on raising a little Jew. While I am not a Christian, the holiday season is incredibly important to me as it represents love and family and peace and happiness. Some of my best childhood memories are from the holiday season (Thanksgiving to New Years). I am not willing to just *not* make a big deal out of this season for our child because my husband doesn't think it's any big deal. So, luckily, I found this topper! It's a little cheap feeling and a little small, but overall we are both very pleased with it. We put it on top of a 7.5 foot tree so the cheap look and feel just doesn't get noticed (and honestly it's a good thing that it's lightweight) but I do wish it were a bit bigger. One day I'll post a pic.

I'm not understanding many of the poor reviews on this product. Nowhere does it claim that the star is made of metal -- only the coil. This is a fun tree topper that is perfect for a Hanukkah Bush or Jewish Christmas Tree.I ordered mine in 2009 and I had a great experience with customer service. There was a shipping error, but Interfaith Decorations was quick to respond to me and remedy the situation.The only reason I'm not giving this 5 out of 5 is that when placing my Topper on our tree this past week, it snapped at the base. I blame myself for trying to bend it in a way that I probably shouldn't have, but with a little bit of glue it was fine and will make it through the holiday season. Again, at the price I paid for it, I'm more than happy that I'm going to get a good 4 years of use without any problems --you can't say that about much these days.If you're looking for stainless steel type topper, you can probably find one for twice as much as this product, but if you're looking for a nice looking, sturdy, well priced product, look no further. Great product, great company and I look forward to ordering a new one come next Hanukkah.

Much to my surprise there are very few Davidic stars that are made to be uses as Christmas tree toppers. This one fits the bill. I was disappointed when it arrived because it was made of plastic. However being made of plastic is probably a good thing, since having a heavy object on top of a tree is an accident waiting to happen. This Christmas season the tree topper held up well, hopefully it will hold up well for many Christmases to come.Pros:Beautiful Davidic StarFits well on treeCons:Made of plastic (but perhaps this is a good thing, so it doesn't clobber someone.)

i was so excited to find this tree topper! we decided we wanted to have a chanukah tree - our first attempt at such a thing. we bought a small (4 ft.) prelit white tree and beautiful blue balls for it. when i came across this, it was just what we needed to complete the tree. the spiral that fits down onto the tree needs to be a little sturdier - ours broke - we had to crazy glue it back together. other than that, we really like it. we need more things like this!
