This worked as a great, OEM replacement for my Hayward B-244T sand filter. BEWARE - You may need to purchase 1.5" PVC pipe and fittings, and set aside a little time to replumb the connections. It was my experience that this multiport valve fit on the sand filter perfectly, but the inlet from the pool (suction side) was in a different location and required some rework. I've also seen some reviews cautioning against over-tightening the connections to the multiport valves, but I had the opposite experience. Even after tightening well, and using a good deal of teflon tape, I ended up having a small drip leak that I had to fix, but now I have a watertight seal. This unit operates very smoothly (as expected) and comes with a new gasket to seal between the multiport valve and sand filter assembly. Make sure to lubricate it with pool lubricant (not petroleum based) so that it will last. It also comes with a pressure gauge (with teflon tape already applied) that you simply screw in, couldn't be easier. Also comes with a plug if you don't want the pressure gauge. My sight glass was also not airtight from the box, but you screw that in the same as the pressure gauge. Our old multiport valve had cracks in the assembly driving a water leak - they're fully resolved with this new unit.

Good quality pool pump

Our Hayward pump was struggling and had an expert come and diagnose the issue, and it all stemmed from the valve on the pump was bad, o rings were deteriorated, water loss, etc. Replaced the valve and everything is working perfectly! No more water loss, high pressure from the pump, circulating as it should. Don’t go with a knock off or something comparable.. the extra $35 was worth it.

Price was ok however there was a big price jump the past few months but what hasn’t gone up lately! The product it’s self was pretty easy to install and seems to be working as it supposed to. Mine did come with the valve, a new oring,pressure gauge and glass sight for backwashing and a plug I assume for when u close it for the pressure gauge. My only problem was with the shipping from IN THE SWIM!!! The shipping speed was awesome. HOWEVER the Way it was packaged and shipped was horrible it looked like it was tossed around and kicked like a beanbag there was no care or attention that went into packing this for shipping!! They shipped it in the original packaging from Hayward with no packing material inside to prevent it from being damaged!! It should’ve been shipped in at least another box with some kind of packing material to help prevent damage to this delicate peice from being damaged thank goodness there was a small neck on it but it didn’t prevent it from functioning correct.

The item was exactly what I ordered and it fit perfectly.
