Great palm guard protector...but the trackpad protector is questionable
I don't wear any watches or bracelets but there's one thing that bothers me after making an investment in a $2,500 laptop...shiny keyboard buttons and shiny areas on the laptop palm rest. I've owned the MacBook Pro Retina laptop for about a year and a half now, most of the time I use the Apple keyboard and dock my laptop on the M-stand to do most of my work. So my laptop looks fairly new. Finally came across this product and decided to test it out.I'm extremely impress with the palm rest cover. Texture is a bit more rough than the unibody texture but you quickly get use to it, wish this was available when I first bought my laptop! I find the best way to line up the palm rest cover is to use the trackpad lines as a guideline. When the trackpad lines are matched perfectly with the TopCase palm rest cover, it sits about 1mm shorter along the laptop's edges so don't expect a perfect fit. This was expected and I think it fits very well. The trackpad protector also fits pretty well. The only exception is that I use the one finger tap a lot and this protector causes it to lose sensitivity. Sometimes it works great and sometimes you have to tap harder or click the whole trackpad for it to work. Finger guestures (for scrolling, two - four fingers) works pretty well. But I personally use the tap to click feature heavily and it kills my navigation experience with the trackpad!! The response is just not consistent but I'm going to continue using and testing it for another 1-2 weeks. If anyone has recommendations for a more responsive trackpad protector, please let me know! This product is very well designed for the price. If TopCase some how figures out a way to manufacture a thinner trackpad protector that increases the trackpad's sensitivity, I would definitely give it 5 stars!

Very Nice Product - Protects your wrist jewelry AND the 15" rMBPro!
Not bad at all! After removing the back liner paper, line up the protector carefully around the center of the trackpad / palm rest areas. Start from the middle, and lay it down. Bubbles occur? - then gently / purposely pull the product at about a 30 degree angle back off and beyond the bubbles, and then lightly slide your fingers forth and back until the protector material is laid down smoothly. Looks good with a slight silver speckled finish.Perfect fit!I left the trackpad portion off, because that area is glass-like and not prone to scratching. Now, I am not concerned about my wristwatch scratching the palm rest area, or vice versa.----Update 17Mar2014-----I originally put the Palm Rest Cover on my Macbook Pro (retina), and all was good. Then I decided to upgrade to more memory, which meant taking it off. It is a one-time deal, folks, as the manufacturer suggests on their literature. Some residual adhesive was left behind (pulling off gently but firmly at an acute angle) - then a little Goo Gone here and there was useful in cleaning the residual on the rMBPro palm rest before returning to Apple for the "bigger" model. So I took it off, and bought another Palm Rest Cover for the new rMBPro. Perfect fit again. Very satisfied with this product - just take your time putting it on. I found that by perfectly aligning the center trackpad was the best way to start - I also left ON one side of the back liner paper and then gently applied the other side first; afterward, pulling the liner paper off and gently applying the remaining side. Perfect alignment. The product is as though Apple intended it to be there! Again, I omitted the trackpad cover, because it is glass and not prone to scratching - I'm not sure it really needs protection anyway. Thanks for reading this.UTAS

So far so good!!
I really like how the product was made. The finish is great but applying it is a real challenge if you don't have steady hands.I installed mine a day ago ended up having air bubbles. As hard as I try, I'm unable to push out the air bubbles in fear that If i press hard enough I may end up denting my Macbook Pro Retina.A word of caution for potential buyers, you may end up hvaing to make an indentation/cut to the protector if you're using a protective case for your MBPro.In my case; I have a speck satin finish case on my MBPro which has tabs to lock the case in place. Roughly 2mm, but enough to make a difference if you disregard their presence. I had to make cuts on both sides. As mentioned in other reviews, the trackpad protector does affect your tap-to-click function but I have yet to experience any issues with other gestures. I just tap a little bit harder. The trackpad fit doesn't really match the palm protector area so there is a very minuscule gap.I would've like the product even more if it came with extra pieces for the top area. Although these parts are rarely grazed, the difference between the now protected area and the speaker area kinda bothers me, but not too much that I'll dock the product for it since I would think that this would up the cost for this product.TL;DRGreat product. Difficult to install. Fit may vary if you have a case.Don't mess up.
