Awesome Book-Very Helpful!
The author has a delightful writing style, and comes off as a trusted mentor rather than the typical dry IT book. I am an experienced IT professional and this is just the thing I need to get me ready for the journey to Server 2019. Will definitely seek out this author in the future.

Good book for Understanding the Purpose of the Server with some intro to config
This book is designed for entry level server integrators. Does not go into the details of the configuration. Mostly about the why and where you find the features. Not really master the config but master the why you need it. Not a IT pro config tool but great for IT beginners read. I bought this book to swerve around the need for MS 2019 server offerings information as MS tech docs are lacking 2019 specific detail, as of 3 qtr 2019. 2016 servers data still hold the links of the tech net. This is not that fill in the gap book, at least this version. The author provides a great why approach in easy terms and would be valuable read to IT related fields as well.

Good book. Rambles a bit, but covers a lot
You need to read this cover to cover. You'll be in one chapter focused on Hyper-V or something, and find great tid-bits on new networking tools when he rambles off into helpful advice. I run quite a few servers with Hyper-V spread over multiple locations, and still learned a great deal from reading this book twice.

Perfect Book for establishing a great baseline of Understanding with 2019
Here's my background, which I think is important to understanding why I so highly praise this book.I've never been a SysAdmin or Network guy or Server administrator. I'm a software developer. But I'm getting into DevOps so I wanted to review what I'd forgotten about Windows Server and Active Directory and also see how they've changed. The last time I was serious about server administration was about 8 years ago. Back then, I setup a few networks and only had a basic understanding - enough to get by, but any REAL problems required a real administrator. So, I have some understanding of networks and servers and my skills are rusty. This book was easy to read, covered all the essentials for setting up a small network, and gave me the necessary baseline confidence to get back to Server administration. This book is incredibly well written; the author has a very good style and clearly speaks from many years of experience with Windows servers and Windows-based networks. He covered all the basics so that I had a small network up and running in no time, complete with multiple virtual machines and multiple Active Directory Domain Controllers. As someone with the very basics of network understanding and server understanding, I am now much more competent.Who this book is NOT for: If you're already working with Windows Server and already feel very competent, and you want the nitty-gritty details of how to solve problems, I do NOT think this book is for you. Though the title is MASTERING Windows Server 2019, I really don't feel like a master after reading it. I feel like I know the basics very well, I know what Server 2019 Standard and DataCenter can do, but I'm no master. If there's one area where I feel the book could use improvement it is in the Title. It covers all the basics, but I'd still be helpless with any serious problems that arose. With that one caveat, I still think for anyone wanting to get a great overview of Windows Server 2019 and what it can do and how to get a network setup this book is outstanding. A great read.

Mastering Windows Server 2019 book
Nice book that go over win 2019 features (more like win 2019 for dummies). It is more like overview of some of the win 2019 features, than a book that take you inside, and help you explore, and configure features

Very Good Intro to Server 2019
This book serves as a great introduction to server 2019. The authors writing style is warm and funny at times. It touches and many topics and gives lots of "first time" instructions but shouldn't be considered an exhaustive reference manual. It also contains lots of exercises so your best getting a good spec win10 pro laptop and running up some servers in Hyper-V to follow along. All in all a good read.
